What an amazing question... Bill Gates is history's largest philanthropist. He has donated more than 50% of his fortune to worthy causes so far... a very significant amount of which are especially for Africa or benefit Africa.
Of the amount of money (from government sources, private grants, medical R&D, etc) devoted to the worldwide eradication of polio (a very big problem in Africa), fully 17% comes from one man's pocket. He has done so much to help that I wouldn't bother to list it all here, instead I'll provide a link:

As you've posted this in Religion & Spirituality, I'll point out that Bill Gates is a declared non-believer (agnostic, in fact). I mention that only for people who think that charity and piety are the exclusive reserve of the 'faithful' and that non-believers are selfish hedonists...

I'd prefer if you asked in correct English grammar but he does actually. He donates BILLIONS every year to AIDS and Malaria and other illnesses not just in Africa but all over the world.

Why should he or anyone else help them? They are the ones that decide to keep having children when they do not have the food or resources to feed and care for them. Why is it that someone else always suppose to help people out of their own mess?
