God loved the world so much that He sent his son to die for you. Jesus died so the world could be saved. Jesus then proved His divinity when He rose from the dead.

Well, it didn't save you in the way that now you have a choice to be saved. That would be dumb.
To absolve sins for one year, for example, you would sacrafice a goat or a lamb or what not. There were rules. So that is why Jesus' sacrafice for our sins is so much greater. Where a goat could do a year, God's son could do all of mankind forever.
So........... there is no such thing as asking Jesus into your heart so He can save you. It is done. There is no such thing as having to repent for your sins. It is done. (besides - repent means to change your mind - so change your mind about sin consciousness!)
There is no law you can follow to appease God - they have all been fulfilled. There is no future wrath of God - Jesus interceded it (it being as told in Revelations) on the cross.
His resurrection was the second coming. The judgement has been done and all the prophecy has been fulfilled. The prophecy was that He would come to save the world.

The Bible (in Romans 3:23) says: "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus". So Jesus died in our place - he became the substitute for us and payed the wages of sin on our behalf.
If Jesus did not rise from the dead, he would have been defeated by death, and our faith in him would amount to nothing. However, Jesus' Resurrection gives us hope for a better future - that we shall also conquer death and reign with him in eternity.

He became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. He hung for 3 days on a cross so that we would have the possibility of being saved. We are naturally born into sin. Note: you don't have to teach a kid to lie, you have to teach a kid NOT to lie. It is our nature to sin as lying is a sin. So, He came down, made Himself a man and was crucified so that we might live. He rose again on the 3rd day to show us that He would come again for us. There is a reason to live a true, Holy repentant life as He is alive and He will come back for His people. Those that do not choose to believe this way will be punished the Bible says by living in eternal damnation, Hell. Those that choose life and believe will be saved. How to be saved? Acts 2:38 clearly gives a path:
1. Repent- tell God you are sorry for your sins
2. Be baptized in JESUS name- not the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost it must be in HIS name
3. Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. This is evidence that you have received Jesus Christ into your heart as you will speak with other tongues as the spirit gives utterance.
This is the best gift, LIFE, in the world!

To explain this,i will have to give a background.
Jesus Christ's death is purposeful,
Sin came to the world through one man called Adam and every one became sinner by birth, the same way Christ dead for the sin of the whole world. It is written the wages of sin is death".for man to be save there most be blood sacrifice.and that has to be done by someone who is sinless.Because jesus Christ was born with out sin, so it was a perfect sacrifice for the world so that God 's word can be fulfilled."The wages of sin is death".It is written in the begining was the word the word ,the word was with God and word was God and that word became flesh and dwell among us John1:1.That word is Jesus christ. His resurrection shows that we have power over death, and evelasting life is sure in the life to come.

Adam sold all of mankind, including us,into sin and death. The price or penalty he paid was his perfect human life, with the potential of living forever. To cover this, another perfect human life-a corresponding ransom-had to be paid. However, nobody born from imperfect men could provide the needed perfect human life.(Job14:4;Ps51:5).In His wisdom,God opened up a way out.He transferred the perfect life of His only begotten Son from the heavens to the womb of a virgin, letting him be born a perfect man.(Luke1:30-38;John3:16-18).
In order to accomplish the redeeming,Jesus had to maintain a clean record all the time he was on the earth. This he did. Then he died a sacrificial death. In this way,Jesus paid the price of his perfect human life as the ransom to deliver mankind.(1Peter1:19).
By means of Jesus' sacrifice, those who 'exercise faith' are being reconciled to God.(Col.1:19,20).In other words, they have a relationship with Jehovah God.They pray and can be heard by Him(1John5:14)If they commit a sin due to imperfection, they can go to God through Jesus Christ in prayer and confess their sin.And their sin will be forgiven.(1John2:1,2).Also,
they have the certain knowledge that, eventually, they will be able to gain eternal life.Even those who die will be resurrected so as to have the opportunity(John5:28,29).

I think (therefore I am)... my opinion is that Jesus' death and ressurection happened because he continued to stand up for his deep dedication to God, and believing this, will give us the right to be in his presence...and in God's presence because there is no doubt, he was resurrected (Muslims believe this too...as to many other faiths); it's just my belief that the only way for us to be 'saved' (from hell) is to live our lives in a goodly way, and to 'keep our eye upon the sparrow' (God) in our daily lives. In other words, I think we save ourselves (or not)...based on what Jesus death showed us all. But, to say that his death & raising 'saved' us...is too trite...and far too easy of "a way out" of all the punishment for sinning against God. SAVED? .. what are Christians, those who are beyond being punished? Give me a break!.

Though it's a comforting thought, the trouble with resurrection, is that once a living thing dies, it does not come back to life...
This concept was added appx. 100 years after Jesus' brutal execution, by ultra-conservative Christian writers, in attempt to add a magical, fairy-tale element to the events which transpired...

God the father has always required a sacrifice for man's sins. In the Old Testament that was the sacrificing of specific animals in a specific way for specific sins. The act was more symbolic than actual forgiveness of sin because they had to keep doing it all their lives.
Jesus was foretold by God to come into the world to give his life willingly for our sins. Unlike the animals, He was giving Himself freely for us. The Bible says He took upon Himself our sins. He had no sins, but He gave Himself for us.
Now if He had died but not resurrected, where would our victory be? He was raised as was foretold to conqueror both hell and the grave. Because He is alive and with God we acknowledge Him as our savior, redeemer, and the Lamb of God (He took the place of the sacrifice lamb).
Therefore, there are no more animal sacrifices required of us. We only have to accept Him as our personal Savior to be saved from our sins.
