Why do guys say they will call but never really do? Is it that difficult to pick up a phone? I'm not saying every guy is like this, but the guys i know are.

because most guys if they are not interested, take the easy way out rather than have to face an awkward situation..

I think thats a 2 part answer.
1. If you ask a guy to call you he has 2 options. He can say OK he will and that scores him ohh positive points I guess you can call them because you like to hear that. Or He can say no. Most people would wonder why not, a fair amount would ask why not. That can easily be a sticky situation for anybody. No points for that. So the easiest reply is to just say yes.
2. Its just how guys are. I myself seem to be wired with a "out of sight out of mind" mentality. I'll tell my wife I'll call and get to doing something and next thing I know its 1AM and way to late to call. I just got caught up in whatever I was doing.

I am a guy the reason i don't call is that i am shy and don't have any idea if the date was a good one i can tell better if i go and see her at home and look into her eyes and ask her if she would like to go on another one they always say no i should call next time and save the embarrassment

could be for a lot of reasons. here are some reasons why i wont call
1) sport fishing...not really interested, but wanted to see if i could get your number
2) i got your number along with several others in the same night or short period of time and i was interested on the other one(s)
3) i have a girlfriend that i cheat on, but i just havn't had the chance to call you yet.
4) not that interested, but i'll call you sometime when i'm drunk..even if it's a month from now
5) i was hoping i could get you to come over tonight, but you wouldn't, so i just asked for your number to be nice and not seem like a jerk.
6) i was drunk and don't remember talking to you...and didn't know where i got that number from
7) i was drunk and thought you're hot, but the next day my friends tell me that i was talking to some ugly chick last night.
8) i think you get the point.

Sometimes guys just say that to be nice when they really have no intention of calling. They just don't want to tell the truth that they aren't interesting for whatever reason.

well you seem a bit desperate.is the problem that their not calling or that you're waiting for that call? and no it's not hard to pick up a phone so maybe it's just that they dont want to call you.just get on with your life and stop waiting for a phone to ring.

Well , for me . I rather meet face to face when it comes to girls. And phones are for emergencies only in my opinion. People really misuse them now days.
