Growth advocates say that people are needed to keep the economy moving, but what is the main cause of...
Traffic congestion
Overcrowded schools
Energy shortages
Air pollution
Loss of open space
Overburdened infrastructure
Wage depression
Deteriorating quality of life?
... the main cause is RAPID POPULATION GROWTH!
• Why should we reduce immigration?
According to the Census Bureau figures, more than two-thirds of current and future population growth is the result of immigration. Dr. Steven Camarota, Director of Reseach for the Center for Immigration Studies, wrote in a January 2001 paper: “Immigration has become the determinate factor in population growth. The 11.2 million immigrants who indicated

I read that too. It goes by land mass and we were the highest. And China has some what of a decline. Pretty scary.
And I go to Canada to visit on the cost side-they say they do have problems. I guess it is where you live. But we are all losing in population growth. And this country does have a huge rise in growth and it is time to stop or I expect it will not be called God's Country any longer.

I think the growth rhetoric is largely horsecrap. What do you think is going to start happening long about the time baby 10 billion is born? 1 billion in the world already live worse than dogs, another 4 billion are barely getting by, another billion are what you'd consider 'moderately well off, and the last billion are in pretty decent shape. Add 4 more billion to the equation, where do you think they'll end up? At the top? Not likely...and what'll happen is there'll be MORE demand for resources, so competition FOR those resources will get worse, throw in a couple natural disasters that this planet is famous for, and a couple human-made disasters, and all of a sudden you can forget any discussions of morality and policy etc., because it'll be bum's rush all day long. What kind of world do YOU want to live in?

Don't look too closely into these types of studies, the math is based on current trends eithout involving other factors. The largest proportion of our population are baby boomer we are starting to retire now, when they die the numbers will likely flop.
They studies make me laugh. Like the one that white people will be a minority in 50 yrs. They don't take into account economic development. For example, people that make more money have less kids, therefore, as minorities become more and more economically secure the less kids they'll have.
Anyways.....If we had a population problem we secretly create a (bird) flu virus that would wipe out 1/3 of the population..LOL!

My brother in law, which migrated to Canada legally from Mexico, told me just the opposite. He told us that Canada was looking for the migration of young people and a young healthy work force.
He was welcomed with open arms to Canada. The migration process there is MUCH easier then here. He now has a successful business their, just bought a home and loves it.
Get your facts straight.
I am a conservative, second generation Mexican American and I am really getting tired of the viciousness of conservatives out there. You want to promote your cause? Then grow a brain and give intelligent answers, instead of bashing people because of their race.

I'm living in Canada and I haven't heard of this population explosion issue here - in fact, I hear our population isn't growing fast enough and so we are trying to increase the number of immigrants we take in. Our population is aging and we are needing more workers.

The population growth is because of illegal immigration. There is a simple three step solution:
1. Secure our borders
2. crack down hard on forgers and employers who knowingly hire illegals
3. make catch and deport law

i don't see your view, go to globalpopulation.gov
you will see America is one of the lowest population in growth and more people are dying than being born, so it is actually slowing and notice how other countries are way ahead of America, if you have a page to support your view please specify.
