I was crossing the street the other day and one police car almost hit me! They didn't even slow down as they were turning and I had the right away.

You give someone a little power and they will abuse it. I have heard all the excuses like 'it's a tough job' and 'they have to deal with idiots all day'. It's all rubbish, the police force attracts people with feelings of inadequacy (or small penises) because they are give some power and that makes them feel important (or that their uniform makes up for the small penis)

Why do you judge all police officers because of one that you seem to think is arrogant? What if we judged everyone the same? Let me see you go out here and do the things that they do on a daily basis with the little pay they get and see how well mannered you are! Why don't you go out here and risk your life for someone just like you. Most days Police officers does and sees everything imaginable and still have to go home and try to deal with what they saw or what happened. What if you went to work one day and got called to a call about some little child dying because of a pedophile, or parent or just because some idiot was out there shooting a gun? How would that make you feel? Happy or content???
And for you EX-Policeman, do you have a small penis? Did you quit or get fired because it was smaller than the other Police Officers????

Why Are Policemen Arrogant? There Are Alot Of excuses that Could Be Given But It All Comes Down To Your Personal Expieriences With Law Enforcement.
I Have Seen Women Try To Get Out Of Tickets By Flirting.
I Have Seen People Try To Get Out Of Tickets By Saying They Are Friends Of A Judge/Officer
I Have Seen People try To Get Out Of Tickets Because They Are Lawyers
I Have Seen People Later Tested And WELL Above The Legal Alcohol Limit Say That They Have Only Had A Glass Of Wine With Dinner

So Are ALL Women Promiscuous, ALL Judges Friends Above The Law, Do ALL Lawyers Not Know What Is Illegal And Are You Sober If You Just Drink Wine?

No, But If I Looked At It Like you Are An Grouped Everyone Together Because Of One (Insert Unfriendly Name Here) I Don't Think I Would Like Alot Of People.
I Have Been In Law Enforcement For 7 Years And Have Seen Alot Of Bad People, But I Still Believe That Alot Of People Are Relatively Good Folks, And That When I Do See Someone They Are Usually Not Having The Best Day/Time/Minute Of Their Lives Be It After A Robbery, A Car Crash Or Worse.
I Have Had To Risk My Life To Help Others And That's What I Chose To Do Becuase I Like To Help. But If We Lump Everyone Together I Have Seen All Races In Jail So Why Hurry To A Crime Scene If EVERYONE Is Bad?

If someone is too stupid to use a crosswalk, the only responsibility of the driver is not to hit them. They didn't hit you, did they?
If you were crossing a crosswalk, you may have been the lesser of two concerns. You might consider that you aren't that important, that he arrogance is your own, and that someone might have been the victim of a crime which required he not use the siren (so as not to alert the criminal) but stopping to let you reach the sidewalk might have cost someone their life.

You have no right to ask the police to slow down for your convenience. You have no idea why they did what they did.

You expanded this one incident to encompass ALL police officers, slandering the entire profession.

Perhaps the arrogance is yours after all.

Not all of them are arrogant...the one you came accross was probably chasing someone or had something else on his mind...no excuse though. You know if a cop car had been following someone who almost did that to you instead of it being an actual cop...he probably would have pulled them over.

Often times its a power trip thing they let the "law" go to their head and they start to believe that they are the law and in most cases end up actually losing sight of what their really here to do and become arrogant people. It also annoys me that towards the end of the month if they have not yet reached their qota they start pulling people over for petty little things instead of actually looking for someone who is really doing something wrong.

I honnestly can't say too many harsh things about them any officer I've ever had to meet has been reasonable and polite to me maybe it's where you live...bigger cities the cops probably are a little more up tight because of the volume of people they deal with everyday and have to keep out of trouble. I think that job would put a lot of stress on a person you have to constantly be looking for things and looking out for people...and some have seen some pretty $hitty things in their lifes.

All I can say is thats one thats going on my list of jobs I'd never want to have.

No one's perfect.

Look at the crap that's happened in the military overseas in Iraq. Occasionally you will come across a few bad apples. That's just a fact of life. You can't fault all police officers because of a few bad experiences. The ones that are arrogant are the ones that get your attention. Over time, your mind drowns out the "positive" or "neutral" experiences that you don't remember noticing.

People are often too quick to blame an organization, company, or profession. There are many shades between black and white - don't forget that...

Because they have the right to be. They do a job that puts their lives at risk 24/7 with paychecks that barely make ends meet.

Some Believe they are above the law, that since they 'serve & protect' they are invincible.
I had one guy stare at my chest for 10 minutes at a lecture at school.
Geez, and they wonder why everyone calls them pigs.

Why are criminals so stupid? Were you crossing at a crosswalk genius, or just jay-walking? Were they running lights and sirens? Because if they were you have no right of way.

Because they have a job no one else wants to take, to serve and protect.
