I think that the US needed to something or else this would have ended up in another world war but i think any other option would have been better. However i am only 13 and many people tell me i am wrong but i think that there are more innocent people in Iraq than there are terrorists so it is wrong for Bush to send troops in to fight when he is not even solving the problem in the first place.

So are we to assume that you are Iraqi? I mean since you know that every day the Iraqi people are afraid to come out of their homes you must be. Either that or you have spoken directly with someone who is there...soldiers perhaps? Of course it's one of those, otherwise how could you know? Well If you are an Iraqi I am sorry for any fear you are experiencing. I hope at least that you are appreciating the ability to vote in a free election for the first time. I also hope you are enjoying having better staffed hospitals than you've ever had, and electrical power throughout more of the country than you ever did under saddam. It must be nice for girls to be able to attend school now. I assure you that the only reason for us remaining in Iraq is to insure that the Iraqi govt., it's armed forces, and police, are able to provide for the security of the citizens. I can also assure you that American troops certainly have no desire to remain there a day longer than necessary. I'm sorry if their stay has made you uncomfortable. I'm truly sorry for the "very innocent" people who have died from bombs that have been dropped. Was Mr. Zarqawi a friend of yours? My condolences.
Do you really think president Bush plans to bomb Americans too? That IS alarming. I will certainly pass that along to all of my friends.

Thank you s_x_i for your comment about this whole thing not being about oil. I totally agree.
My opinion about Iraq: Whether or not the US was justified in going into Iraq means nothing now. What matters is finding a way out that is fair and meaningful in light of the losses on both sides. Yes, it is not fair that innocent people die in conflicts.
I do not have a good idea of how the majority of Iraq's people feel about the war and wish I had a better understanding.
I hope that the Iraqi people understand that Americans want this to end also but they want it to end in a way that leaves the Iraqi with hope for a better future. That is, an end to torture by the people leading Iraq, no supression of one group by another, a sharing of the resources of Iraq between all Iraqis - not just a few in power, and many other freedoms.

All signs indicate OPEC is near capacity, I think in 5 -10 years when global demand for gas tripples everyone who questions the war will realize what it was for (i.e. The gas rationiong in the 70's). In the old days, war over resources were pubicly acceptable becuz there wasn't much to go around or technology to produce like today. The problem is Americans have no sense of scarcity. The g-ment knows the importance of oil and its economic impact. This combined with the instability of the region makes for potential disaster for developed countries. The problem with Saddam is that he tried to take over the region, thus, increasing the instability. It is unfortunate that innocent people have to die but someday it could come down to economic survival and what would us Americans do if we could not drive our SUV's that get 12 MPG??? Would you support a war if it meant that you had enough fuel available to make it to work???

As a soldier that has served in Iraq who has also spoken with Iraqis I would have to say that we are doing the right thing. The many Iraqis that have come up to me just to thank me for my service and the rest of our armed forces that are there has reassured me that we are doing the right thing. The many Iraqi people that have come up to me to say that they no longer fear the Iraqi army going in to there houses in the night hours to take them because some one has told them that there " Great Leader" was evil. The many times the Iraqi people come up to me and say that there brother, son, father was killed by the former regime because they did not like what was going on. The people who were afraid to better them selves because the regime frowned upon the intelligent community. Let me not forget the times I have spent with the Iraqi Kurds the people that Saddam is now on trial for the mass killings of them. They are the people that come up to you and invite you to sit with them to have tea just to thank you for stopping the evil that once was there. I believe that Saddam was the one who was killing innocent Iraqi people not out of self defense but for the pure enjoyment of it. If you think the war is unfair, unjust or wrong then maybe the WW2 was wrong as well. And by the way we are really good at dropping our bombs into bad peoples car windows. So we are not just dropping bombs just were we please.

Unfortunately, this war is about Rumsfeld and Cheney wanting to play war games and right their past wrongs. Only, they underestimated the Iraqi people. They love their country as we do, Rums and Chen's have put the United States in a no win situation. Bush, to save face, should fire their A$$es. They are almost as bad as Hussein, and Bin Laden, maybe worse. They are playing their long awaited war games with innocent American lives, and at the same time, degrading the value of one of the greatest countries on Earth, solely because they thought our military was under-used. We are not a military first country-we usually respond to attacks-now we are attacking first-asking questions later, under Rumsfeld and Cheney-Bush is caught in the middle as well.

First of all I have been there so I know from first hand experience that we are doing alot of good things over there. It is truely unfortunate that the bad stands out on the top of things. If I had the time I would break down to you the real difference between the US Forces, and the terrorist and insurgents there.
For now I think you should start to learn a bit about Saddam and his own regime, to get a better idea of why exactly we are fighting this war.

I think that it has happened and needs to be dealt with. Running away now will make the situation worse.
Wether it was right or wrong to invade Iraq is irrelevent now, that debate has passed, we need to handle the situation that we have and then make plans to get the f**k out. It doesn't matter who's in charge of the government, we need to finish what we started before we bring our guys home, otherwise all the US deaths will be in vain.
P.S. to all of those of you who say that this is about Oil, look at the U.S. Oil Reserves. I work in the Oil industry and I can say with confidence that we have more crude Oil in the Green Valley Shale Oil Reserves than in the whole of the middle east - Over 3 TRILLION BARRELS! This war is NOT ABOUT OIL.....It's about ragheads blowing us up...the sooner you monkeys figure this out, the sooner we can work towards fixing the problem!

do no longer communicate approximately helping terrorists. Who have been the biggest fund-raisers for the IRA? No-one's been waiting to win a conflict in Afghanistan. the U. S. supported S.Vietnam, why shouldn't different international locations help the North? The conflict in Korea replace into between the North and South; the U. S. supported the South etc, etc. the ecu has no longer something to do with the U. S. or is it any threat in any thank you to the U. S., in user-friendly terms to itself.
