Are you serious? That pisses me off. They're good dogs. You're right, we can't let thathappen, it will though.

Pit bulls suffer from the same publicity problems everything else does. The news only offers negativity. Look at your local newscast as an example. 10 minutes of tragedy, 5 minutes of weather, 5 minutes of sports, a 2 minute human interest story and 8 minutes of commercials. The ONLY news you ever hear about Pit Bulls is bad news. As a result, you are going to get 20 some odd posts about how executing these poor dogs is justified along with the opinions of a select few people who have ever actually had any interaction with this breed of dog.
I don't know how to go about changing people's perspectives. The only way would to be make the positives as highly publicized as the negatives have been for so many years. Yes, there are bad dogs out there, just as there are bad people out there. The problems with these dogs are primarily caused by the owners, either through abuse, being trained to act this way or because they have not been trained at all. Pit bulls are an intelligent and loyal breed. When trained properly, they are absolutely wonderful dogs.
Unfortunately, some of the same thing is going on here in the US as well.

My city just put a law into effect this past month, u have to spay/nueter your pet get it microchipped, muzzle it in public, get all of its shots plus pay $50 a year to own a pit. I agree it is the dumb idiots who use them to fight and make them mean not the animals fault!!!!!!
Sooner or later it will be Rotts, German Shepards and where will it end? Pretty soon it will be illeagal to have a dog for a pet because of its breed
Most people only hear about the pitts who have been treated badly or was made vicious. I had one around my newborns and he was the sweetest thing ya ever met. No one ever accused my dog of being mean worst he would do is lick ya to death but some sicko stole him away from our family

Pit bulls are not your average fluffy, cuddly pet. They have the temperament of a wolverine and will attack any time. Little kids with sewn up faces and scarred for the rest of their lives have to live with the disastrous experience of a vicious dog attack. Why don't you please get over the bleeding heart to the "breed" issue and look at all the children who've been attacked by someone's "fritz."

I agree. Breed specific legislation is completely wrong. I have sent a few e-mails to the governors of the states considering this, don't know if it's done any good but if you check the Internet there are sites you can do that from.

it is sad for the dogs.. but the dogs are one of the most aggesive breeds.. they should have not all been killed like that.. but with irresponsible owners they are very dangerous.. and you cant really practically determine that.. so they just took the easy way out.
