It means the Lord guides and protects me - like a sheperd with his sheep. I shall not want means I will have everything I need.

This is from the 23 Psalm.
The LORD is my Shepard, I shall not want.
YHVH is my GOD, my wall of protection.
As a Shepard herds his sheep into the sheepfold at night, so our Lord protects us with His Love.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.
Green pastures is food for the sheep.
Our Lord's Word is food for our souls.
He leadest me beside the still waters.
Still waters are deep and dangerous. His guiding Hands protect us as we go through the flood of peoples in the world.
The 23 Psalm is so beautiful and I suggest you read it and ask God for understanding.

I know exactly what that means, you have to study what a sheperd is, then you will know what it means when it says I shall not be in want. Jesus is the Sheperd of our souls, A sheperd takes care of his sheep, Jesus takes care of His sheep. A sheperd leads his sheep to safety, Jesus leads His sheep safely into heaven. The sheperd takes care of every need of his sheep, Jesus takes care of every need of His sheep. Jesus Christ is our Sheperd, and we are His sheep!!!!

Even when I think I am not able, the Lord provides and all I need is Him. The Lord is my Shepherd because He guides me and because He guides me He will always lead me to the best for me at whatever point I am in my life. It might not make sense to you and it might not seem like the best, but He knows what lies ahead and during that time I will need nothing because He will provide for me -- food, shelter.

"The Lord is my Shepherd"- is our relationship with God.
"I shall not want"-that He supplies things we need.
Good cares for us like a shepherd cares for sheep and will provide for our need. Read Luke 11:13 maybe be it will make things clearer

A shepherd's job is to make sure that his sheep are well taken care of.
The Lord is often referred to as The Great Shepherd, and we as His sheep.
As our Shepherd, the Lord will make sure we are well taken care of (that we have everything we need). As long as we trust in Him and follow Him, we will not have to worry about our needs being met.

It means that you are a sheep, being told where to go and what to do by God, your shepherd, and so you have no need to want anything because he provides it for you. Of course, you DO know what happens to sheep, right? Go to the meat department of your local grocery store, and you'll find out.
