To get paid a decent wage, you may not need a degree in these fields, but maybe some type of certification. You can be a medical or dental assistant, veterinary assistant, legal assistant, pharmacy tech, a certified nursing assistant (CNA), you still need specialized training in these areas usually costing under $10,000 (which is a deal these days) and you can get financial aid and loans. Student loans have very low payback payments and you don't pay until you finish school and have a job. If you do not have any training or knowledge, don't expect to get paid.

Help in a nursing home with bathing the patients and mopping the floors. Working at a food pantry doesn't require a degree- course, it doesn't pay much (if any at all).
