If the two people are grown adults, in love and happy, who cares what the parents think? Either that or get over it and move on to find someone who'll make your parents happy.

My experience with a love that I could not marry was that it was hard at first. We were very close to getting married (I had almost bought a ring for her, I even had one in mind) when something happened to both of us, and we then knew that we could not get married. I have not seen her or talked to her in almost two years.
Yet life keeps moving forward. Do I still love her? To some degree, yes. I don't think that I will completely be over her. Do I have plans to marry someone else? currently, no, as I have not yet found another person. Does that mean that I will never get married to another person? No. When I find another, and things work out, we will get married.
I truly believe that there can be more then one true love in a persons life. Even after a hard event, we all have a choice everyday. We can sit around and be miserable, and miss any other chance that we might have for love. Or, we can go out, have fun, remembering past loves, but with a smile on our face. Life is truly too short to sit around and miss other chances that will come because we are too afraid that we will lose another love.

If your parents' opinion really matters to the two of you, take some time apart, and then re-evaluate the situation with a clear head. If you are really meant to be together, you'll know it and end up back together. If you don't end up together, then you'll understand why your parents didn't want you together in the first place.

if there are problems right from the start like family hating each other then theres bound to be problems forever. i was in a relationship and i really loved him but because his family didnt like my family and my mother did not like him eventually i realised that there was no real hope for us to be married so i left him to find someone else now im engaged and from what i hear so is he. so it all worked out for the best..

Cut your lost. Let them go and find someone you love and is willing to marry you because they love you back and want to spent the rest of their life with you.

i ll keep loving him/her but i ll not be totally dependent emotionally on him/her instead i ll look for some platform cause i know if i love i cannot bear her/him turning away frm me. and these things do keep happening if you are in real deep love.
