If your friend knows how the adoption took place she can go to the localized Adoption Agency and request in writing for information on her birth family and she should register with the State Adoption Registry. Can find information on Adoption Disclosure Indiana in Yahoo Search

First I'd have her speak with the parents who raised her. So that she doesnt break their heart. They may be able to provide her with enough information to enable her to continue her search on her own. I've found that zabasearch is a helpful search engine.
There are also others. But she will need names first.

can she start w/her adoptive parents?? if not; does she know where or who she was adopted through..like a lawyer or adoptive agency? my husband & his sister are adopted and they went online and found their parents that way; but they knew where they were adopted from. you might have to pay for a program to help.. GOOD LUCK! :)

Can she ask her parents questions? How about aunts or uncles? You could look up one of these web sites that help hook up kids and parents.
