Yes I did for about 6 years. It worked fine at first but made me sleepy. If your depressed and have a compulsive disorder Zoloft is a good choice for you. I had very little problems and actually stayed very thin on it. (I'm a girl so I liked that). You may lose your sex drive, that's the only down side. If you have a spouse or partner it could cause problems. My boyfriend hates Zoloft LOL!What eventually happened to me though was that I got what they call the "Prozac poop out" which means after awhile your body develops a tolerance to the drug and the effects aren't as effective as they used to be. I eventually switched to Wellbutrin which I didn't like very much so I stopped taking antidepressants all together and am just learning how to deal with my problems on my own. Zoloft is a good temporary help but I wouldn't stay on it too long. No antidepressants should be depended on for a lifetime.

I have taken it for 8 years and would not go with out it. It took about 5-7 days to notice a difference and about a year to get the dose right. Now I take 50 mg's however when I am really stressed out I take 100 mg's.
I have taken through 3 pregnancy and my children are great...smart...happy.
I only wish they would have had things like this for my own mother......also, some people feel that all you need is "God", more prayer or what ever....I am deeply religious and feel that God inspires humans and leads them to answers and inspiration.
If I refused Zoloft I would be denying the very essence of the help my God has sent for me.
Also, the dry mouth does go away......good luck

I don't recommend this sort of medicine, you should use some kind of Natural Remedy. Zoloft has some bad side effects such as Common Side Effects:Decreased appetite or weight loss; diarrhea or loose stools; dizziness; drowsiness; dryness of mouth; headache; increased sweating; nausea; stomach or abdominal cramps, gas, or pain; tiredness or weakness; trembling or shaking; trouble in sleeping Less Common Side Effects Agitation, anxiety, or nervousness; changes in vision, including blurred vision; constipation; flushing or redness of skin, with feeling of warmth or heat; increased appetite; vomiting.
Zoloft is just another medicine based on a doctors theory that it works who knows maybe 5 yrs. down the road they will say its bad for your health. To treat your depression or anxiety learn to meditate so you can relax. Reflect on your daily life and see what you can change to make yourself feel better. Everyone feels depression sometime in there life your not alone. Try some aroma therapy http://www.100pureessentialoils.com/site/1562898/page/721073
Make sure you are getting enough sleep, think positive, and have a balanced healthy diet. Avoid coffee. Don't believe all your negative thinking. Stay away from drugs and alcohol it makes it worse. If this helps that's good but, if it doesn't don't get discouraged it'll take time. Good-luck!

Talk to your therapist.
There is a purpose for you taking medication. If you can support that purpose by positive thinking and good moral behaviour, the medication will work better and faster.
I have taken Zoloft. I found one of the things which helped my wellness was to not blab my business all over town, but keep it between me and my therapist. When stuff happened, I then told him what was happening, and sometinmes he would adjust the dose and sometimes just ask me to think about things in my past.
Remember mental health is a long rough road. But if the long road gets you there, it is well worth it. Theres a saying, "If the long rough road gets you there, and the smooth road doesn't, which one are you going to take.?"

I just got off Zoloft a few months ago. On the drug for about 3 years. It helped some, didn't cure my depression, so if you are relying solely on it for a cure, it probably won't happen. Didn't for me. I began noticing the difference well into a year after I started. That is while i was undergoing therapy. Hope you feel better :)

Yes,on Zoloft now, I would give it a couple of weeks but I noticed the effects quickly. I like it but it does seem to have diminishing returns the larger your dose. I have found it to have few side effects however sometimes I have noticed it masking my anger until I over-react in a situation.

I am bipolar, and I've been on Zoloft for about 2 years. I am not sure how long it took before it worked for me...I think about a month, though there was a gradual improvement before it really kicked in. Good luck.If it doesn't work for you after about a month, ask for something else. Don't suffer more than necessary!

Yes, I have taken it and yes it works for me. I believe it took about three weeks for me to start feeling better. Also when i stop taking it for a couple of weeks ( which you should not do) it only takes a couple of days to realize I need to resume. It also effected my libido. I still enjoy sex , it's just that I don't miss it when I'm not having it.

I'm on it at the moment. Having a bit of a nightmare with it. Four weeks on 50mgs - no effect, 5 days on 100mg, feeling anxious, dry mouth, pins and needles, unexplained bruising.
I'm not sure that it's working for me.
