Yes, the US has lost already.
Iraq is in Civil War.
For the last 3 years, US soldiers broke into people's homes with the intention to arrest or kill "bad guys".
Just how likely do you think it would be that some power invade the US and successfully impose a different style of government upon us?
How long must we continue to be there because someone said something bad about George Bush's daddy?

I wouldn't say the U.S. is losing, especially from the diplomatic side of it. It's not how you might think it is. You have to be courteous wherever you are and at the same time ready to take action when you see a threat. Understanding that not everyone in Iraq is the enemy, but that when you see the enemy, he may look just like everyone else in the crowd. It's not all about sophisticated weaponry, it's about being aware and vigilant at all times. One day you may be working with Iraqis who seem friendly, but the next day find out these same guys are looking to kill you. The Army is more than combat support. The Army, at least in the combat arms, is trained to do any mission. Many of these troops come from the National Guard.

First of all we aren't "losing", and secondly it's apparent that you have had know experience of what is actually going on in Iraq. Yes we do have the most sophisticated weaponry, and the BEST MILITARY in the world!
We also are bond by treaties that have tied our hands from behaving like the barbarians that we've been busy putting a stop to. Unlike them we have HONOR!
Maybe you should spend some of your time thinking about what it takes for each and everyone of our service men and women to be able to do a job in a hostile environment without becoming just like the enemy.

I was a military officer for 27 years, including Viet Nam. I'll tell you a little secret, son. The United States military never lost a war to ANYBODY! We fight under something called rules of engagement. The civilians set those down and we live by them. Some of the most ridiculous ROEs in history were set down by LBJ and Nixon. We still didn't lose, they pulled us out and wouldn't let us finish. Never sell your military short. You'll be wrong.

Not really that simple, you see the US is fighting an enemy that engages in guerrilla warfare, this is a lot like the US's war of revolution. Also the enemy likes to target civilians alto as well and the US has tiptoe around in this war because so many are against it. My thing is if your gonna fight a war fight a war and then get out.

You try deciding who to kill and who to allow to breathe your air when 2 guys are standing on a street corner, and they are dressed identically, look the same, speak the same...But one has a frigging grenade or rocket laucher suitcased up his butt waiting for you to turn your back on him. It's a little hard to fight an enemy you can't identify until he's blasted your legs off. And you can't just return fire either, or you might just hit the innocent civilian child he's hiding behind. Then you're a war criminal making little rocks out of big rocks for 25 to life. So tell me *****, where do you get your experience to speak of it in the first place, huh? Its unfortunate that the body count of insurgents isn't touted as loudly as that of our dead troops then you might just realize that we're kicking butt over there. The enemy's best weapon is a roadside bomb its hard to attack one of those. In case you missed it just the other day over 90 insurgents were killed by the US and Iraqi armies.
