There are usually 10 hot dogs in a pack and 8 hot dog rolls in a pack. So the least number of packs of each that you could buy and have one hot dog for each bun is 4 packs of hot dogs (total 40) and 5 packs of rolls (total 40).

Assuming there are ten hot dogs per package, you only need to pay for one package of buns if you remove two buns from another pack and place them in the package of buns you are purchasing. Actually, most hot dogs come eight per package as do the buns so you're looking at a simple 1:1 ratio!! No leftovers! Woohoo!!!
