Everything that is YOU is inside your brain--thoughts, feelings, memories, etc. Ever see a person with severe brain damage? THey cannot think, reason, or remember things very well, and the loss of thinking function depends on the amount, type, and location of damage. Terry Schiavo (sp?) was a good example of how brain damage effects who and what a person is. Hers was so severe that she literally had almost NO brain, only bits of it remaining within a skull filled with fluid. If her mind were a separate entity, then she still would have been able to function on some level.

This is why the idea of a soul is so untenable. What is a soul, where does it live, what does it look like, what is its function, why does it exist? If it can live outside a body, why does it need a body at all? If it is a non-corporeal entity, then it has no brain, so how is it able to think? Where would the thought processes be formed and stored? How could it function on any level without some kind of nerve system to guide it? If it can somehow do all of this without the presence of a brain, then why does it not keep the body functioning when the brain dies or is damaged?

Ask a General in the army to to act while withdrawing all the forces under his command. No the mind can not work without its tools of brain etc.

A whole lot of army cannot generate a general on its own , external help is needed to create a general for the army.

Mind needs a body whether a solid one as on the earth. Or an astral body to roam around without being noticed by the human beings

Soul takes imprints from the brain and take it to the next destination, the next body whether astral or human one.It is like another tool independent of the bodies it assumes.

The mind exists independently of the brain. The brain is a physical framework, where as the mind is etherial. It's an energy, invisible, and exists in a type of awareness. The mind will actually function wiithout the brain. If one were to practice the science of out of body travel (which anyone can do), you will see that your awareness goes with you outside the body. Is anyone here an athiest? Practice out of body travel, and you no longer will be.
