I just got a perm and i'm not to fond of it. I heard that if you get your hair wet within 24 hours of the perm it will deactivate it. I was wondering if i could do this to get my natural hair back.

No it will not work and if you hate your perm now you'll love it in a week or two the curls will losen and it will look more natural do not get it wet because it might fall out and 2 weeks from now it will fall out unevenly wait a week and if you still dont like it talk to your stylist

Getting your hair wet WILL NOT deactivate your perm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will get it WET! THAT'S ALL!!!! Your hair has been chemically changed to take the form of the perm rod, the only way to get it out is to chemically change it back with a straightener! Give your perm a week or so, it WILL relax a little. just be patient. If not, let the salon that did the perm know that you are unhappy. In 2 weeks, ask them if they have RUSK ANTICURL to take it out. Minimal damage to your hair, but the curl is gone for good! Let it go, see what happens, if you still aren't happy, then the anticurl is an option. 1st, give it TIME!!!

explaining to the instructor you have a clean perm would be ideal, and that they ought to no longer rigidity a wash on you. :) you could wisely moist your hair, or maybe use a delicate detangler, if mandatory. the reason you do no longer shampoo a clean perm, is to offer your hair time to rebuild some chemical bonds into their newly curled shape. this could be a minimum of 40 8 hours, with 72 hours being maximum suitable. interrupting this technique can consequence in harm to the traditional of your curl, and your hair condition. maximum suitable of success!

If you wash it with shampoo, it might loosen up a little. I would just give it a couple weeks though, you might like it. If you really hate it ,you can go back to the salon and they can loosen the curl up by doing the whole perm process over, but with out the rollers.

lol. Some of you need to carry around a dictionary! A perm is just that....PERMANENT! It doesn't just WASH out with water and shampoo!!!! You'll have to grow it out. Meaning every month or so clip the ends of your "permed" hair and it should grow out in about 3-5 months.

I got a perm and hated it, I drove home from the salon sobbing. I called them back the next day and told them I hated it. They had me come back in and they took care of it no charge.

I have washed my hair as soon as I got home from the salon, but that didn't deactivate it. You might be like me & hate any new hair style for a few days. Either way, I hope things get better for you! Bad hair sux!!
