Yes, it is a cultural thing...and a religious thing...and a personal choice thing...
Most of those that are of Judeo/Christian thought wear our rings on the left hand...to some cultures the left hand is the "dirty" hand, to others the left hand is the "evil" hand...
So it just depends on who you are, where you are, and what you believe.

Left hand. Don't know about the cultural thing. If a man wears his ring on the right hand, I'm thinking he's stepping out on his wife. And instead of running the risk of losing his ring, he puts it on the other hand.

In Canada and USA, also England we wear wedding band on left hand, finger next to smallest.
