If you live according to the Bible and it turns out in the end that the Bible is true after all, you've won everything....But if it really were "just over" in the end, then what would you have lost?
But what will you lose if the Bible is right and you've lived your life in disbelief?

The way i look at it there are people out there that say why believe in something that couldn't be true? i say why shouldn't you? some people will go thier whole life not believing to find out GOD IS REAL and then spend eternal life in hell. or they could simply have the belief in Him and when they die IF He wasn't real what did they lose? nothing. but he is there and there is an eternal wonderful life that is so perfect. so the people who don't beleive come out as a loss

Living as a Christian is the same as living as a regular human being with the exception of believing that Jesus died for you sins, and that you ask him to come into your heart. That's it, that's all you have to do.

After that it's all choice, remember, you likely made this decision because you wanted the help of Jesus, and he will help you, so it's just a matter of listening now to your heart and making better choices, more loving choices; you won't be perfect, far from it, but remember it's progress and not perfection in becoming a better person so you can reach the potential that God wants for you.

Finally, the most important authority is your personal relationship with God; he will guide you if you listen. Remember, some Christian's do not believe the bible literally, but still learn from it and follow it's principles. Others, believe in every word. There are many types of Christian's, maybe you just need a church that suits you. You could try Methodist, they are pretty liberal.

Living like a Christian is one of the least painful things I've ever had the privilege of doing - I just follow the Shepherd and he clear the way. My flesh knows heartache, pain and suffering, but my Spirit rejoices everyday for the joy of knowing Jesus Christ as my Savior. And someone commented or any other religion - well, I guess the same could apply, but unfortunately it doesn't, because no other religion teaches that Jesus Christ is the only way by which they will enter heaven and that by no other name will all mankind bow down before him. Those are some pretty strong teachings if they are not Truth. And they were not said and done in violence or with threat of harm, they were done by God in the flesh who gave his place in heaven to live here and die here that we would know he could fully relate to us. I don't know of any other religions in the world that have a leader, if you will, that did that. Even Satan knows Jesus Christ did and he trembles and flees at the mere mention of his name. Now that tells me there's a God that has power beyond what I think I'd be willing to chance coming up against. Besides the love he has so out weighs everything else that I do not even have words to express the joy that overwhelms me when I speak of the Love of Christ.

You would have lost your own dignity and self respect. Just as you are so sure the bible is right, I am just as strongly convinced it is nothing more than christian mythology. So, according to you, I am to live my life according to a book that has no value to me just on the far fetched, outside chance it might be right? I do not think so. Also, how many christians really live their life according to the bible? Very, very few. Most pick and choose the parts that they feel good about and ignore the majority of it.

It's sad in todays world that people turn their back on God. But the really sad thing is that people are taught as young as 5 years old in public school that evolution is fact, when there is no brute facts (all things are interpreted based on a presuppotion). People don't realize that the christian religion in school has been replaced with another religion, humanism.

Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves,

who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. Romans 1:24-25

What have I lost...

Well, for example, say the Bible's not true and the Koran is. Then I'll still be eternally damned for not believing in the "right" religion.

Say that there is no God... then I have wasted the ONLY precious tiny little moment of life I will ever have restricting myself unnecessarily. To me, that's a lot to lose.

Other than that, there's the fact that God would know, would he not, whether you really believed or only tried to your whole life to avoid hell. Seems to me that He would have more mercy for the honest person than the fake one.

PS... This is called Pascal's Wager, and it will get you absolutely nowhere, as most have heard it many many many times.

You lose a lot of time during your life reading the Bible and going to church when you could have used that time and money to help the poor or do something else that's productive. Plus, your whole life would have big one big lie. That's just Christianity vs atheism though.

What if you're Christian and you're actually supposed to be following a different god? What if you're a good Christian for your entire life and end up going to hell for not believing in Allah? It goes both ways.

Because, if I follow a bible written by a pedophile that contains stolen stories and misinterpreted words of hate and oppression I will surely burn in hell if there is a god. If I continue to be kind to all people who deserve it, and speak up against those that oppress and hate, I am more likely to win either way. Christianity is a lose-lose situation. I can spend my life hating and oppressing and not thinking for myself and being a truly immoral and bad person (In other words a christian) or I can be a good person, treat everyone equal, and go to heaven if it exists or cease to exist like I believe. No matter what, I WIN!

What if you life a christian life and it turns out that islam is the true religion? why do chistians think that everyone is either a christian or an atheist?

You attitude is much more like an agnostic person's than a christian's.

Often, living as a christian doesn't hurt you, but does hurt people of other faiths or homosexuals or anyone else who doesn't agree with you. (of course I don't mean all christians, just the ones who critisize everyone and try to convert them)

I would have lost my freedom of thought, feelings, beliefs, etc. I would also have lived under a diety that I just can't honour. Why do you feel that doing this would be so good? Why do some Christians just have to have people do things their way and if not, At Least Fake It? What is the problem with the idea of many gods and goddesses and you choose the one or ones that mean something to you? God said there are other Gods and Goddesses, he just didn't want you to put them before him because he was jealous. He is talking to his followers and alot of us aren't his followers, so are free to choose otherwise. Please learn to deal with this and quit trying to make everyone else do it your way, even if you think you're helping.

Exactly what do you mean by "living as a Christian?" Does this mean being nice to others, not murdering, etc.? If that was the case, then I think it's safe to say that a good portion of our population lives that way, and they can do so without having to feel they have to classify themselves or prescribe to certain religious beliefs.

I believe that as long as you treat everyone fairly and equal, and don't majorly screw up (i.e. run out and murder someone), you're doing alright, and if there is definitely a heaven, you should have no problem being allowed in, regardless of your religious beliefs, or lack thereof.
