Yep, I do. I volunteer for many groups and projects aimed at helping or working with kids. I was a lunch buddy, I help at an annual children's festival and get involved in many fundraisers for organizations aimed at helping kids. It's meaningful to me because I feel that I've had a directly positive impact on someone and their life. You can see the difference you make, and interacting with the kids allows you to not only see how much you mean to them, but also allows you to get some valuable experience as a mentor and leader. I'd say it really prepares you for questions and problem solving. And, as a positive role model, you can actually invest in the kids the desire to be a good role model, allowing your work to continue in many directions and reach many people.

YES! I volunteer for the American Red Cross and just recently volunteered with the homeless by helping to prepare a meal. My work with the American Red Cross is very meaningful to me because I have a heart for helping people when they are unable to. I also volunteer my time to do missions work and in a few weeks will be off to Russia to visit some orphanages and do some community service there. It's being able to give when even you don't think you can and that's why volunteering makes sense to me and why I enjoy it so much!

There aren't many ways to do any volunteer work around my community, and there is a group in the school for things like that, but I don't have the time. I give blood every 3months. Whether it's at school, or I make an appointment at the RedCross or LifeShare. It's meaningful to me because, like I said, there's not much I can do, and because I feel like since I'm a heathly person, it's something I can do to give to others in need. There are people who desperately need blood transfusions and what not, and will be thankful everyday of their life for something I do by taking an hour out of my day. I feel like I'm doing a good deed and not losing anything by it. I feel like a better person every time I give.

I am a Lion, we raise money for blind organizations such as Leader Dog For The Blind. We do many other charitable things at the local level. Many churches run food pantries and/or soup kitchens. This is just a small effort in the fight against hunger, but it does help. I feel blessed to be able to donate a very small amount of time each week into bagging the food for needy families. It makes you realize just how fortunate we are to be on the giving side.

I volunteer for the Breast Cancer events in my hometown. I do it because of one of my moms friends who had breast cancer. She's such a great person and I know how much my volunteerism means to her.
I used to volunteer at the Multiple Sclerosis walks but that's when I was younger.
