lots of them on the Sharper Image website. Ranging in price from $60 to $150. I know I've also seen similar products at Linens and Things and Bath and Body Works. Good Luck! :)

You can use things that you have right in your home. A fan is a good blocker. Classical music has been used because of the quality of the music...it is rich without a substantial degree of highs and lows (not too loud nor too soft). You can use your alarm clock with a radio, it should have a sleep timer on it. You can also get a fountain that makes the rest of the noise melt into the background.

I don;t have any websites for you, sorry. But try things that you have around your house first, before putting out any money that is unnecessary. Good luck and may sleep come to you as it does the tired baby at the end of a busy day. :)

What works for me is something that produces a constant noise (a noise that doesn't change). My husband bought me a Sleep Mate 980 from Marpac Corporation. It's a white noise machine. It masks sound very well. I even take it with me when I travel. You can change the tone and volume depending on what works for you. It's one of the best gifts I've every received. Check out the webite www.marpac.com. It costs about $50. If you want a cheaper alternative, I would suggest buying a fan (with three speed settings for varying degrees of noise). Good luck and happy sleeping.

No device will actually "mute" the sounds (unless you go with the Bose noise cancelling headphones - they rock). The term is called masking. White noise consists of a noise of all audible frequencies (though the lower ones aren't as obvious because that's the way the human ear hears) and does a good job of masking droning noise. Traffic, machinery, crowds and any droning sounds are covered quite well (but you still hear the white noise). Sharp independant noises - car crash, car alarm etc. . . will still pierce the sound a bit. I have one that was mentioned above and it works well using nature sounds and so on to mask the sound of the traffic outside my window.

I use a "sound machine" that I got at "Sharper Image."

It makes sounds that soothe me, (brook, birds, ocean, heartbeat, fire, etc.) and wipe out the ones I don't want to hear.

Costs about $35.
