For example...

You are a pacifist and your child joined the army...

You are a vegetarian and your child became a bucther....

You are a fundamentalist christian and your child became a striper....

What would you do? How would you feel??
Can you give be an example of a job etc you wouldn't want your child to have?

The hardest for me would be the striper, not only because of my Christian beliefs, but because they would be cheapening self-image of their body. That and prostitute would be the worst for me. The biggest reason is that I believe you need to respect your body and that is not respecting it.

Now as far as what I would do about it...what can you do? If you forbid it, they will do it more to rebel. Honestly, I believe that you would have to let them know that no matter what you will ALWAYS love them & also let them know that you don't believe what they are doing is the right decision; however, you will always love them. Let them know how you feel about their decision, let them know that you love them then you have to let them make their own choices.

If my child wanted to join the army (and we lived in a country where this was an option and not a requirement), I would, at first, try to convince him not to. Next, I would beg him not to. If he insisted, I would just lie awake all night worrying about him until he saw the state of my disrepair and quit the army for humanitarian reasons.

That's not a joke; that's quite literally how I envision it...

There are a lot of jobs I would hate my child to have. It might hurt me worst if my child became a missionary - I don't mind my child believing, but forcing it on others is, in my opinion, a very bad thing. Additionally, I'd hate my child to be a real estate agent (for similar reasons!).

How I would feel is terrible. What I would do? Well, I guess we have to accept that our children are humans too, and are fully free to make any choice they want in life. I certainly hope never to be in a situation like this, but if I am, what is there to do? You have to love your child whatever path he/she takes...

Were I live boys have to join the army for 2yrs I think, but they dont' have to make it a career. I would not want them to because there is no army on this earth today that seems to be fighting for and by Gods law but by mans law.

Not a vegetarian so I would not care. And even if I was I don't think this one would bother me.

I am not a Christian, but as a Muslim if my child became a stripper this one would really bother me. I would actually stop it if I could. If I could do nothing I would just have to leave them to their sin and pray for their forgiveness.

I don’t mind the two latter options, although I am vegetarian... But I would mind the army-thing. I think I would be very sad, but probably I’d accept the decision after a while. Perhaps I would even blame myself... Anyway, I’m rather a turncoat and quite weak morally, so I doubt if I got very depressed.

a stripper a prostitute a dancer a devil worshiper or any thing that degrades women in general, I would feel horrible, i don't think i could deal with it absolutely not. it is hard to conceive. I pray to God i don't have to deal with anything like this.
I would probably have a heart attack and act irrational, I would probably not talk to her and never accept what she did and hopefully she will change her mind.

but then i think about those people like Tory spelling i believe she was a model for nude magazines she has parents and how did they do it or was is something that they approved of, i don't know and I for one prefer if they keep it to themselves,

I would feel like it was time to let my baby go, and understand they are their own person, an individual whom I cannot control and must respect for the person they have become.

Of course I'm not a republican......
