I'm 29 and she's 23. I thought we hit it off incredibly well but we only had 5 dates before she turned me down several times and I moved on. Actually on date #5, right before the cold shoulder, she told me she was going to stop seeing another guy that she had met before we met so that we could date exclusively. Never understood why she would say that. Now, six months have past since we've seen eachother and recently she has been frequently seeking me out on instant messenger. Basically just being friendly but after months of nothing. I really like the girl and really think that in her mind the age difference is an issue (as if I wanted to get married right away).
Any advice on if I should do something?
(Worth noting that I know for a fact she hasn't had a boyfriend during this time).

The age diffefence for you two is not that big. However the maturity level may be and probably is a lot different, with you being a lot more mature. If it were me, i would be nice to her, but steer clear, if she did it once, she will do it again.Always remember, the less said the better, just let things flow and give this some time.Possibly she wanted some time to think, and maybe she is approaching you cautiously. You have plenty of time, just wait and see. First, I think that is a perfect age difference.

Second, do you maybe have a reputation to play the Field or anything.
She may be testing you out first, to see what kind of guy you are.
Anything that you may have said or done after she did this, may be something that she takes into consideration. I do not know if you like to be done that way, cause frankly, it is not fair to you, but, if you still want to try it.
Maybe now, she will be up to it.

Someone declared that she wanted to date you exclusively and then dumped you for no reason for 6 months, and now is trying to contact you? Why? The other guys didn't work out? Are you that desperate to be a doormat, dear? Run in the other directions.

sssssshhhhhhhhiiiiiiiitttttttt I like oldermen, she's a lucky @ss. man, move on. Get a new girl then if she really likes you, it will drive her crazy as hel- and when us girls go crazy, we cant take it anymore but to express our feelings. If it doesnt work out, then too bad. Sucks for your damn life. Or you can always have a romantic picnic at the beach or the lake while the sun sets.....Every girl will love that. If she doesnt then shes evil, man shes evil.

she sounds kinda like a psycho to me, but if i were you ide call her. MSN/yahoo/ whatever IM... are a good mask for girls to wear. I have had real ******* bad problems with IM convos and girls. I think its a lot easier to type something than it is to say it to a person. I had girls that could type type type for 1hr straight, but as soon as i hung out with them or called them, they were ice cold and couldn't open up. Maybe she's bored and playing mind games with you, or maybe she's really into you! But you aren't gonna find out by IM'n her. You still have her number I presume, and just call her and try to get another date with her, maybe she's realizing what she's been missing since she stopped talking to you. Good luck buddy

You may know she didn't have a 'boyfriend' ,but you have no idea how many bed buddies she's been keeping. A girl that young wants to have men fall all over her & as many as possible. Sounds like one guy she was persuing, jumped ship & she's back for a ride on your boat.

id look into it if i were you... and trust me.. age difference only matters for the first month or 2 of the relationship.. at this point ive almost forgotten the difference in age between my boyfreind and i... hes 26 and im 19. in any case shes at least intrested in a close freindship.... that much is obvious from what you mentioned. if she really wants to be with you.. age wont matter at all... good luck with it....

i think she wouldn't contact you if she doesn't like you. maybe she was testing you if you were reallly sincere. anyway, i cant speak for her. how about a nice heart to heatr talk with her? tell her how you feel but please dont come out too strong. insert in your conversations how you would like to still explore the world and you coudnt do that as a married man? i hope im not making you more confused.

If you know she has not been dating then maybe she's smarter then you give her credit, time before relationship could mean she wanted to make sure how she felt.
