I heard a couple awful ones this week. This lady where I work is naming her first child Aimsley for a girl or a boy (she doesn't know the sex yet). There is also a woman who just had a baby boy and named him Keegan, and her other son is named Remington. The U.S. is getting stranger by the day on baby names. Poor kids.

Recently someone introduced themselves as "Rain". She told me it was her birth name. Why would a parent name their child "Rain" or anyother name they would put them in the line of fire for the rest of their lives.

Well, I've heard several of the names that people have talked about already ... "shithead" being one of them and I'm wondering if the woman who heard that lives close by, I was surprised to see that. I think above all of them, that's one of the worst I've ever heard and I think the parents need to be shot for even considering it. Along with that, there was a lawyer in this town long ago whose last name was "Hog", him and his wife ended up having twins ... the names were "Ima and Ura Hog". Imagine that. Apparently, that lawyer wasn't too smart.

Well Hollywood has some weird baby names like Apple. I know a girl named Ainsley and one named Lucy Gyer (That is her first name not her first and last and I don't think i spelled the second one right). I had a friend named Stormi. I also knew a boy named Denim Blue

It has a lot to do with wacky celebrity names, like Apple and Prince. The population is having children younger, so pop culture will influence their name choices to be hip and trendy. It seems more like people are giving pet names to children. I might name my dog Remington, never my son. Quirky names can be cute, but often they are terrible and parents don't think of the child when they pick these names, they just think of other adults and how cool they will think their new babies name is.

From the 1870's my g-g-grandmother left a diary and mentions that she and her husband would take horse and buggy around north central Kansas in the winter to check on homesteaders. At one "soddy" (a house made of stacked slabs of sod) that had an interior floor space of about 10 feet by 10 feet, they gave food and fire wood to a family of ten. This family included triplets, named, "Bud, Leaf, and Blossom". At the time, as was written, the family was overwhelmed with an influenza. Later it was reported, in the Spring everyone survived.

We knew a lady who wanted to name her child after her grandma and grandpa. His name was Clarence, and hers was Helen.

They named the baby Helclare..they ran around calling the baby girl Hell for short!!!!!!!! Ewwwwwwww

Another lady had a 12 pounder and named her son Sabastian.

I also don't like the names: Orson, Cesil, Murtle, Dick(self explanatory),

Burnesse, Betty, Beulah, Cricket, Star, Apple and Winter(all girls names).

Ohhh, I also went to school with a little Mexican boy named --ELVIS..he was teased so much for it.

Have an aunt Franny Jane...

My absolute dislike for a name is Birtha

My mom had a hissy fit when I named my son Jeremiah, pretty normal to me compared with the likes of Apple or Suri, or some of the crazy made up crap that parents come up with. And I like unusual names. But you really have to take in to consideration that the child will live with the moniker for the rest of their lives. and kids are cruel and like to tease other kids. I have a friend who named her son Stetson.
