11 - Hardest for me because I started a special program called the IB Diploma. It was a real jump from a high school type of level to a collegiate level. Not much sleep this year.
12 - Second year IB Diploma where most of the major assignments had to be done.
9 - I experienced the jump from middle school to high school and realized the increased level of difficulty. Plus, I took part in my extracirricular activities which took away my time.
10 - By far, the easiest year for me. Pre-IB Diploma and I settled well into high school life.
For an Average American High School Student who does not do advanced courses like IB, I would think it would be something like the following:
9 - Most hard because of jump
12 - Assignments and senioritis before finishing
11 - Harder difficulty than 10th grade
10 - probably easiest once again

In my opinion.....
Sophmore year was the hardest- for some reason, classes were tough and you were kinda stuck in the middle of being the babies and being the seniors.
Then, junior year was the next toughest... I was worried with cramming classes and doing good in school to make my senior year a bit easier.
Next, my freshman year was fairly easy.... I loved moving up to the high school and being the new kids- the babies.
But...ultimately...SENIOR year was awesome! Prom, graduation, skip days, getting out early...... just plain awesome!

Anxiety makes every thing hard. You are right, if you over come the problem of Algebra and reach A grade then your worries would be less. First start from the beginning and try solving answers at home alone. Ask difficult to solve any of them to your teachers or friends and then before you attend the class every week, read what is going to be taught and find answers to them if you can. The information collected earlier helps to understand what is being taught and reduces anxiety Best of wishes
