the gums will heal in time and think of how much better your husband will feel without the pain and infection from those teeth. He will now live a longer life because recurring infections in the gums....that bacteria attacks the valves of the heart. There are lots of ways to look at it, but just talk to him, explain how you feel, and start slow. He's probably too sore to want more than a little right now anyway.

First and foremost find a dentist that specializes in making dentures. Many are so poorly made and look fake. A good specialist will add details to make them look like natural teeth. Look for a dentist who offers permanent dentures. This is fairly new and a great advance. Hygienically, it is best to remove them at night and soak them in a good denture cleaner. You don't want denture odor, which can be very strong and obvious as to what it is. Besides soaking, they need to be brushed with a denture brush with the cleaner as tarter does build up if they are not taken care of properly. You jaw line could change or you could get creases at the sides of your mouth. Talk to your dentist about changes. A little cosmetic enhancement can fix that. Now, if you are getting the lowers pulled, do everything you can to save as many of those teeth as possible. With regular dentures they don't stay in as well without being anchored to other teeth. Good luck. You will not need denture adhesive if they are made correctly with a good fit to your mouth.

Dentures that fit properly do not "fall out". I am sure his gums are sore; however if he wants to kiss you, do not be afraid. It may take a little time for him to adjust to the plate, but with time and patientce, the two of you should be able to engage in "deep kissing etc".

Interesting question, I would say he is pretty sore right now If he still want to kiss you try it .Nothing is going to “fall out” I know you had a bad experience when you was a child but I assume you love him. In other hand is more than one option in that situation, if you are not still comfortable probably he will feel bad too. Discuss the possibility of dental implants

start small and work your way up as you feel more comfortable. I doubt he will be so insensitive to you to actually spit his dentures in your shirt pocket. Take it slow. Good luck.

well, it's too late now, but He should have laid off the crack and took vitamins..........
Maybe you could get some denture adhesive to make them stick good in his mouth then they might not fall into your shirt pocket.
If you really love the man, massage his gums with some ambesol sweetie.

don't swap spit with hubby until his gums have healed ,he has enough bacteria of his own. after that , I know this sounds cruel but he is your husband so I will assume you love him "get over it". he will already be going through emotions without felling you are rejecting him

They are not all tore up, they have all healed over. This isn't the 1800's where this kind of thing is scary anymore.
Do you love him?
If so, get over it.

I don't think you need to be afraid of them ,
Give him & yourself time, you'll get used to it.
