Although bats are not necessarily blind, their eyesight is very blurry and indistinct. They can not distinguish stationary objects, only moving ones. So essentially, their vision is useful as nothing more than a motion detector. To compensate for this short-coming, they use an alternate sense, hearing. They emit sound waves that bounce off objects and return to their ears, allowing them to formulate a picture in their minds based on how quickly the echo returns to them.

Bats are the only mammals that actively fly. These
animals are of great benefit to humans and the
environment.

Like most mammals, including people, bats have fur, are born live, and nurse milk from their mother's bodies. Bats belong to a group of flying mammals called Chiroptera (Ki-ROP-ter-a). This is a Greek word for "hand-wing."

They do not have feathers but their wings are formed from their skin being stretch over their fingers. Bats are nocturnal creatures, that means they only come out at night. During the day bats roost in tree holes, caves and people's houses.

WELL,bats cannot see in night . they fly with the help of ultrasonic sounds produced by them .and human ears cannot hear ultrasonic sounds, but bats can now while flying these ultrasonic waves produced by them get reflected back if there is any wall or solid material in front of them .they reconize them and change there direction .............and hence prevent themselfs frm any type of collision..........
