Isn't that basically making a judgement itself? Does anyone else think the Bible contradicts itself? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to start anything, but I think it's odd. God doesn't want you judging people and yet he does it himself when he looks down on homosexuals. Can someone explain to me why this is or for any Christians up for a challenge, why I am wrong?

God judging people is different from people judging people. The Bible tells us that we should not judge each other, but God judges our actions.

I had a thought. what if the human DNA could tell when the world is over populated and can make the adjustment. There is only 35 percent of the oxygen in the atmosphere and only 35 percent the nutrition in our food that there was at the turn of the 20th century, so I asked a friend,,. a non church going straight man who believes the world is over populated and does not want children, I asked what if homosexuality was an answer to population control, it's better than wars famine. And all sorts of natural disasters. He opened the bible to Romans 1:2_ and after some discussion and later that day he asked "why would god condemn gays if he created them? it doesn't make sense" I found that an amazing connection so many hypocrites at the podium can't make.I like it when things make sense and I want to clear up some confusion so listen up, this is the kind of stuff that holds up in court. There's only one place you can find any possible mention of this astronomical mistake, the only bigger mistake was the church burning controversial gospels in the second century. There is no backup or support to it anywhere else, it's not in all versions, there is no irrefutable evidence of this proposition and because of this mistake, the story has been largely misunderstood for a very long time. It is very important to keep in mind that Jesus never said a word about it, good or bad, and it's always best to follow his example and what's consistent throughout the Bible and all the versions, and remembered at the podium when speaking of Gods love for ALL his children, and if one says gays are not Gods children, one is taking an awful chance come judgment day and should remember Gods directive re judgment. These days there are acceptance issues and yes you can be gay and stay in complete abeyance of the Ten Commandments, Gods complete set of laws, nothing missing, and the complete moral code in a nutshell that says nothing about homosexuality, including those commandments pertaining to sexual morality. As long as a relationship is loving and committed it is good in God's eyes; moral and Safe, and those are the only two requirements for marriage and the rest can be extrapolated from that and Gods laws. To clarify, if it isn’t in the Ten Commandments you have to think twice if it's a sin and it still ain't.Also keep in mind there are extreme difficulties at times when translating and you can't help but loose something, i.e. an accent, an inflection . . .So in Genesis 19: there are two words in a list of sinners that the authorities could not nail, they are "Arsenekoiti" and "Malakos", so someone thought they were smart by putting in homosexual; not found in Gods laws, and look at the damage done!!! Now there are a bunch of gays believing a lie that they're sinners and the natural course of action is to forsake religion and find God's laws unworthy, and therefore, go ahead and sin perpetuating the gay stereotype of sex out of wedlock that people see when they read of sexual immorality in the bible, so now there is AIDS. I see two commandments pertaining to sexual morality, neither exclusive to gays but both apply to any lifestyle, one commandment redundant and neither mention anything other than sex outside of marriage. And more damage, our society has placed so much shame on it with so much ridicule that there are statistics on how many teens commit suicide after discovering their sexuality because it's such a disgraceful, despicable thing that you're better off dead!!! God sure has a lot of forgiving to do, how can he keep up? And further, you've heard, "I ain't crazy, I ain't seein' no shrink" Sound familiar? Perfectly Designed To Throw Shame In Getting Help Too! so the poor kids have no way out but the permanent way out! How much damage must our society destroy itself with shame? Statistic; 97% of all marriages could have been saved with a little counseling so there is more shame in getting help and less shame in getting a divorce!!! and you know how that affects our children too!So you see how people single this out and run with it and look how it got so blown out of population that people still have the crazy ides that the story is about a town full of homoes that want sex this guy who just blew in, sight unseen even, and this will look like a form of mass insanity, showing a low opinion and expectation of other people when you see the story is really about a traveler that came to a town that just didn't have the hospitality or courtesy to leave the poor sob alone to rest from his travels. Now consider this, the moral code has not changed in the time since the story, how could human behavior change so radically? How could there ever be a town of nothing but homosexuals? And at a time it seems that homosexuality was too rarely an issue?, So with the confusion over the word "yara," there are two reasons those people would be out there, one is to get to know him, the other is the whole town wanted sex with him sight unseen. The later sounds a little preposterous and the former is just human nature carried a little too far. Romans 8:28 PS Those who say homosexuality is unnatural sure don't know the birds and the bees and the rest of the animal kingdom too so don't forget they are God's creations too. And notice other cultures around the world where it is just as normal as the birds and the bees

The bible doesn't say homosexuality is wrong, but people interpret it that way. The bible is very open to interpretation.

You'll often hear the argument that all the bad things in the old testament (like Lot's daughters sleeping with their father, and all the slaughtering of people) were negated when Jesus came around. Unfortunately, for some reason that argument is not extended to the story of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Basically, it does say not to judge, but some Christians say they can ignore that because god wiped out Sodom and Gomorrah because of homosexuality. Well, God also said you shall not suffer a witch to live and that's what sparked all the witch trials that led to hundreds of thousands of people being burned and tortured. So why aren't Christians running around killing Wiccans? Because they'd go to jail that's why. (There is a reason for the separation of church and state--if the church ran the government we could go to jail for eating meat on Fridays).

Now this also means that Christians get a bad rap--they don't all condemn homosexuals. People that say Christians are homophobic are being bigots themselves, but it is true that religious leaders (and some of their followers), like say, the Pope, condemn homosexuals.

I think Christians should look at it like this: Christians believe in God and that he judges everyone, so why not leave it up to him to decide once the homosexuals get there? If Christians had true faith, they wouldn't judge here on Earth, and they would leave it up to God to decide their fate.

Personally, I think that anything two consenting adults do out of love is okay with me. I can't really imagine God saying, well, you loved this person your whole life, was faithful and loyal, but you're going to hell because they were the wrong gender. It is simply ludicrous and contradicts the whole image of God that most people try to build up.

Basically it comes down to this: God does not contradict himself; Christians contradict themselves.

Well, don't get me wrong, but, why do you "judge" murderers and child molesters? Are you contradicting yourself?
I don't hate anybody, and I am not defending the bible, as I come from a different faith that believes the bible was altered over time.
And in my faith, God warned against homosexuality, and Lot was not seduced by his daughters. If God asks us not to do something, we as weak humans should obey, no homosexuality means no. That is if you really believe in God, the all powerfull, your creator.
But our human arrogance nowadays is limitless that we think we can pick and choose the rules that suit us, and leave out others. Also, where does it stop? Today, homosexuality is ok, tomorrow sleeping with your sister, or your daughter is going to be none of our business. Where does it stop?

God has a right to judge, because He is God, and, therefore, perfect. However, He tells us humans not to judge, lest we be judged. When I, as a Christian, judge someone, that person can turn around and find something in my life to condemn (judge). We see that all the time on "Yahoo!Answers".
This last point is free: God does not look down on homosexuals. He loves them, as He does everyone; murderers, liars, gluttons, drunks, adulterers, etc. He just hates the sins, not the sinners.

The bible is Gods word. It is Gods judgement. It says for us not to judge others, but God is perfect and can therefore make sound judgements. Us humans on the other hand are not perfect. "For ALL have sinned and fall short of theglory of God" therefore seeing as none of us are perfect we are not take a view of someone else as bad because of what they do. We can however lovingly rebuke their behaviour if it will damage their relationship with God.

Yes, the Bible says those things. It also says that it is wrong to dishonor your parents, murder, steal, lie, covet, have sex outside of marriage, worship idols and to take the name of the Lord in vain. All of these things and many more are sins condemned by the Bible.

(Joh 5:22) For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Joh 5:26-27
(26) For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
(27) And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
(Joh 5:30) I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

The job of being a judge has been given to Jesus. Human judgement is flawed as a result of sin. I know that the Bible says that the saints shall judge the wicked, but I believe that we will examine the books of heaven and see that the judgements of Jesus were fair.

You as a sinner should not judge for you are or was one and came from the same place where this one may be.Don't make ones life harder but understand that all stumble and need help when we fall. How can you question the Father these are his Law that say you belong to him, when you trust in him and keep his laws is salvation. If you make a Law how would you uphold this Law when broken? Would you judge?

The Bible is God's Word. God can only judge because He is just (the Bible also says that).
