First, you should figure out why you are sad. If you know why you are sad, maybe you can fix it. If not, or if you don't even know why you are sad, then go do something fun and try not to worry about it. Go hiking, go to a bar or club or dance and meet some new people. Hang out with friends. Work out. Do yoga. Try something new, like martial arts or some form of fine art, like music or painting. If none of this helps, seek counciling. That doesn't mean you have some disability or are mentally unstable. They are just professionals at helping people, it's their job. All in all, don't worry, go have some fun! Oh, one more thing, travel, that's a great one, especially if you can get out of the country.

If you are just sad today, enjoy your sadness. Go for a sad walk or a sad coffee by yourself. Sad sulks can be fun once in a while. Humans are meant to experience all emotions. Try not to really dislike being sad. Just realize it's part of life. But if you are sad all the time and it's getting in the way of your life, go see your doctor and explain .

call some friends and invite them over to watch a movie or something... if not, watch a funny movie by yourself. Also, stop thinking about what's making you sad. I know it's hard, but you have to cuz its the only way to feel better. Try finding a solution to your problem. If you can't find a solution to the problem, then why think about it? You're just adding pressure to yourself. Just relax and eat lotz of ice cream.

Watch funny videos on TV, play with little kids, pet an old dog, make funny faces at yourself in a mirror, visit people who would love to see you ( including those in old folks' homes, hospitals, etc. ), have a really nice meal with someone you would like to get to know better, have a glass of really good wine, go for long walks, work out at the gym ... there must be a thousand things that would work to cheer you up. : )

Get a puppy. They can brighten up the saddest people. If come home from work after a hard day and see my little puppy's face all excited to see me makes me so happy regardless of how bad a day I might have had at work.
