It depends, if you are a lonely single person, you'd prefer a cat. If you are uh..oppposite of that, you like dogs.

Thank me later.

A dog, I have 5. Four Shih-tzus and one Lhasa Apso. They are companion dogs and love to be cuddled and spoiled. They are also good watch dogs. Can't protect the house though as they are to small, but they will let you know something is outside. I have personally never cared for cats.

A cat is better in my opinion. They are easier to care
for but i have to admit that dogs are way more fun.

It depends on how much attention you plan to give it. If you don't have too much time, go with a cat. They can do with less attention. A dog needs more, but can also be more active and fun.

It all depends on you and your lifestyle. Regular-haired cats don't require you to give them baths. They poop in a cat box, then cover it up, feed themselves if you give them food, and they come to you when they're ready for some lovin'. Dogs are a fulltime commitment. They require regular bathing and grooming, lots of attention, you have to clean up their poop constantly, and they're almost like having a kid. Both are good pets, you just have to decide what is better for your situation. And don't get either if you, yourself, are not going to commit to providing them a good, loving home no matter what happens, including if you move.

I think it depends on the person like older people like to have cats so they can hold them and younger people like dogs because they can play with them.

A dog, but only if it's a real dog and not one of those miniature things that look like rats or puffy haired freaks

Cats might be more relaxed, and layed back, but I just LOVE dogs! They are just so lovable! And i'm not trying to be a dork or anything lol,but I don't really have alot of friends,so I go home and talk to my dog she just licks me,and cats, they are just so peace-ful and relaxed,so I named my calico cat 'Peace' I tought the name suted the cat because they are so peaceful. So either one is good to have becasue you can keep both of them inside, well not so good but some dogs and some cats shead heh,so if you get a dog you're making a wondering choice, and if you get a cat you are still makeing a wonderful choice, but when I pick my animals,I try to pick the ones that look like they have been left out alot,so I take them and give them a great new home! But,i'm not trying to be bossy, but if I was you,I wouldn't get the dogs that people say are mean, and some cats are mean to,but one day I caught a wild cat and everytime I got near it in its lil' pen,it would try to run or scratch me,but I tamed it,and it was a wonderful cat after it was tamed. But if you do get a wild animal,be sure to go get it checked out at a vet or someone who knows alot about animals, and get them neutered as soon as possible,it relaxes them alot and makes them not have puppys if they are girls, but you don't have to get them neutered, but all my animals I get neutered, after you get them neutered they won't try to wonder off as much, and if you have a backyard animal that is a lil' pushy with strangers, you might want to keep them on a leash or a fenced in back yard or a pen or something,so if they get loose, the fence will be there, and if they do get loose and you don't have a fence you need to try to retrive the dog as soon as possible, because if it gets in the neibors yard it could jump on someone and knock them down and then they would get hurt, then they might seu you,the dog that I have right now that is an inside dog,she is a Shih Tzu,and if you do get a shih tzu,and you need some tips either e-mail me at - whitney_shore95@yahoo.com - or you can go to www.shihtzusecrets.com they give you great tips, and they e-mail the tips to me,and shih tzus are great show dog because their hair get really long ( if you get one you need to brush him / her everyday, everywhere)their hair get long and pretty, and you can get a Teacup Shih Tzu,they are SOOOOO cuuuuuuuuuute! I love them they are so little and pretty, and Shih Tzu's don't shead!!!Now cats, all of them are so pretty, and I love the purshan cats, their hair gets sooooo long and pretty, you need to brush them daily to,to keep their hair long and sliky, and brushing them makes them not shead very much,so they would be a pretty good inside animal to! And my grandma has a Collie, ohhhh hes sooooo pretty she brushe him everynight for at least an hour, everywhere on his body,he is sooo soft, when you put your hand on him,it feels like your hand is on a cloud!

So you can pick any kind of animal you want, whatever animal you think is cute, nice, pretty, loveable, and caring for other animals,a dog that is smart and isnt mean to strangers. So the best of luck to you to you with all animals you get,and if your pet has puppys or kittys good luck to them to!!!
