My husband, coach, about 10 students, the anesthesiologist, 2 doctors, about half a dozen nurses. Dignity stayed out.

My husband. His family was on the other side of the country and my parents live on the gulf coast (we were stationed in NC). My mother flew up the following week-end to give us a hand. I'm expecting again and planning on a scheduled c-section (various medical reasons). It's at Christmas time and my family will be at my house for. My husband is obviously coming along with my parents, my little brother, and my older brother (my sister has decided it's more important to attend a friends wedding than Christmas with her family, oh well). The hospital will be a little crowed this time!

LOL. I have a funny story with this one..
my husband was the only one, but only because my mom could not find me..
my son was early so they transported me to a hospital 110 miles away. they were so rude and cold there, it was depressing.
After my epidural, my son's heart dropped 5 min. later, My mom and 2 friends had went to get some thin to eat, and when she came back, I was gone for an unplanned C section.
You would have to have a mom like this to understand i guess, but even bein an RN, She went into fits, because they would not let her back there...
Only my :boyfriend", which i had told them a hundred times was my husband... And the nurse came back and told me, your mother wants to know how her child is doing, and how my baby was doing now!.......... She ended it with a big, princess, in that smart *** tone, and I told her i was no f&(&$ing princess.......
A very rmrmberale day. I will never do it again !....

All right...I'm a husband. Besides me, the doctors, and the nurses, a high schooler was present that was part of some sort of career exploration program at the hospital. They asked us if she could witness the C-section and we agreed. It was funny because my wife got really ill from the drugs during the procedure and kept throwing up and the poor girl made some comment about how she never wants to have a baby. Our delivery was probably one of the rougher ones because of my wifes reaction to the drugs.

Well....I had all three of my children by c section . I was knocked out completely for all of them. One hospital would not allow anyone in the room while I was under so, I had only the doctors and nurses. BUT one hospital (my first baby) allowed someone to come in. Since my husband was overseas at the time, my mom came in with me and she tool pictures while they did my c section so my husband and I could see what we missed out on.

It was me, my husband, my OB/GYN, two nurses and the anesthesiologist.
I insisted on NO family members being there. The birth of your child is an incredibly private/special/wonderful moment that should be shared only by the two people who created the child...not everyone and his brother. I know people who were so torn up because their mom or mother in law wanted to be in the room. I'm sorry...did your mother in law get you pregnant? No? Then tell her sorry...it's not gonna fly. She had her own child(ren), she knows where babies come from...it won't be the end of the world if she has to wait in the waiting room with everyone else.
With my second baby, it was me, my OB/GYN, the assisting doctor, the anesthesiologist (Dr. Love...I swear that was his name. He looked like Fabio, LOL), and a handful of nurses. My second baby was an emergency c-section. I had driven myself to the hospital for a NST for lack of fetal movement, and an hour later, I'm lying on the OR table. It had to be done so fast, my husband didn't have time to find a sitter for our older son, grab my bag, etc. The baby was in distress and had to come out right then.

My parents, they both work in the hospital and I went into preterm labor, so it was an unexpected delivery, otherwise if I wasnt in so much pain I would have at least made sure my dad got out, Now i just try not to think about what he saw. Oh and my husband wasnt there because he was in Iraq, I only wish he could have been there.

Which time? Only my husband the 1st, 2nd, & 4th times and on the 3rd - my husband and 2 daughters (there was no where else they could be). My husband did take them out in the hall when it was time to push and lucky for me it only took 3 pushes and they all rushed right back in when they heard the cry.

My husband and My mother when I gave birth to my first three children. I am pregnant now and my husband and his sister are coming in this time. I think that the babies father going in helps to build the bond they need in life..
