Wow that is sad. In a nation, like the US, that boasts 70% Christians, I question that number. In a recent poll taken by a Christian group. 74% claimed they were Christian. Less than half that number knew John 3:16 (the most quoted verse). Less than a third of the half of the 74% that claimed they were Christians could quote another verse. After that it goes down hill even faster.
I understand that event to the extent that the Lord has provided me with knowledge about it. I think that this place, Yahoo! answers provides an accurate display of the average Christian in the US but a real forum that displays the true Christians can be found at www.apuritansmind.com. Those are men and women who fear God.
I do not think that it is comical but more of a saddening fact.
Ah, my two cents worth.
Grace and Peace

The Jews turned Jesus over to the Romans to be killed because...
So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the Council and said, "What are we to do? For this man performs many signs. If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation."
But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, "You know nothing at all. Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish."
He did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. John 11:47-52
But the biggest event wasn't His death, it was His resurrection. Anyone can claim to be the Son of God and get killed for it. But only Jesus was raised from the dead and seen by over 500 witnesses.
Mohamed and Buddha are dead and buried. But Jesus lives forever and so will all who believe on Him, praise the Lord!

Most of the people answering are children who only know bits and pieces of things. Furthermore, most Christian's don't really think for themselves, they just repeat the Christianspeak that they hear from others. So to expect an intelligent thought out response to any religious or Christian question will invariably get the childlike responses or bible quotations because they never been taught to explore or understand what they are learning; they simply rely on the interpretation of others.

What makes you think these people were all Christian?
The Jews killed Jesus because He claimed to be the Messiah,
the Son of God. To them it was blasphemy, worthy of death. They are still waiting for His coming.
Do not go thinking that all Christians hate Jews because of this either, because you would be wrong about that too.

rm is right on the button...the sad thing is that Europe may even be worse and considering its the burthplace of Christianity...but I guess the Bible is right saying that the path to heaven is narrow and the path to destruction is wide...Its everyones free choice in his/her lifetime to make a decision...its too late when you are dead meat...
