I can't seem to ever wake up early enough in the morning for work ((((not surprising....it's work)))). I'm tired of the mad dash in the morning to get ready, and I wish I could force myself to wake up at the time I set the clock for.

Even when the alarm is on the other side of the room, I just walk over, hit SNOOZE, and go back to sleep...again and again...ERRR!!!

Doesn't seem to matter whether I go to bed early, or late also...

Any suggestions???

If putting the clock across the room isn't working, then you are just going to have to DECIDE to act like a responsible adult.

"Wishing" that you would act that way is apparently not enough. "Trying" to act that way is apparently not enough. Both of these words leave open the backdoor to failure. Make a decision and follow through.

And set your alarm clock ahead 14 minutes--then put the fact that you did so out of your mind. Still use the time on the clock to go by for getting ready and out the door. You still might be in a mad dash getting out the door but at least it will help your chances of surviving the drive as you won't be quite so rushed when you are behind the wheel.

A coffee pot with a timer is also helpful--all you have to do is stagger to the coffee pot and it is all ready to go. Pour a cup, throw in a couple of ice cubes for quick cooling, and start downing the "Juice of Life."

I have a friend who had the same problem - she ended up setting three different alarms all over her room. They were set to ring only a minute or two apart, so she was pretty much up for four or five minutes straight trying to turn off the alarms. At that point, she was too busy turning off alarms to go back to sleep.

I've had this problem too - but there is nothing I love early in the morning more than a good cup of coffee and a few minutes to read or watch the news. I set my coffee maker to brew coffee about ten minutes before I got up, so when the alarm went off I knew that there was fresh coffee waiting for me!

set your alarm across the room, along with another alarm in a different location. if you have a cell phone, set the alarm on it also.

i find that it helps if you set the alarm 15-30 minutes earlier than usual. i think i'm used to hitting the snooze only a certain amount of time.

don't worry about going to bed early--just get used to a certain amount of sleep every night. whatever works for you. five hours, eight, whatever.

i have the same problem. my husband and i usually have to get up by 8, so we set the alarm for 7 because we both like to hit the snooze.

You just have to get your body adjusted. Stay away from sugars and caffine later in the day!!

My dad used to have that problem all the time. So he really hates country music. He bought an alarm and broke off the snooze button, then set it to country music. Across the room, country is enough to make most people wake up.

You might consider having several alarms... that works for us.. I have 3 alarm clocks... only one has snooze and have even used the TV alarm as well. Finally, if there is any way of setting a light to go on... that might work.. I for one can not sleep in with the light on.....

Hope that helps.. My good friend and I struggle with this issue...

I used to do the same... what I do now is place my alarm, or in my case my cell, away from my bed. I put the volume loud so that it annoys me enough to get up, walk over to the alarm, and turn it off. Once you're up it tends to be easier to stay awake than to roll over on your bed to quickly hit the snooze button. It's something simple that can possibly work for you as well. Best of luck! ^_^

drive to your nearest truck stop and look around for an alarm clock called the screaming meanie. i can tell you from experience, once that damn thing goes off, the snooze button won't matter. you will wake up thinking you are having a heart attack and there will be NO going back to sleep. your neighbors may get pissed, but at least you'll be out of bed.

Hey, I have the same problem. I just set two alarms at a gap of 5 minutes. Once the first alarm goes off, I'm sort off awake beacuse I know that it's almost time for me to wake up. And when the second alarm goes off (I place this clock on my dresser, so that i can't just reach out to turn it off), I have to walk over to turn it off, and I'm fully awake by this time.
Hope it works, till then happy zzzzzzz

Get a clock without a snooze, then force yourself to get up when it goes off. If you turn it off and go back to bed and end up real late to work, you'll probably only do it once.
