Here is what the Straight Dope has to say on the issue:
Various ingenious restraining devices are provided so you don't drift off at an untoward moment. In front of you is a urinal--essentially a funnel with a hose. It can be moved around if you later want to do your business standing up. The commode seat is cushioned so as to make a good seal with your bottom, thereby ensuring good suction and preventing the escape of undesirable substances.
Then you turn on a fan inside the commode and do your business. The fan pulls the nasties into a sort of mesh bag that traps solids but allows liquids to pass through. The water is pumped to a storage tank, which is later emptied into space. When you're done, you seal up the top of the commode and open the bowl to the vacuum of space. The moisture in the solids boils away instantly, considerably reducing their bulk. (NASA folks cheerfully refer to this process as "freeze-drying.") A special device compacts what's left and it's stored in the commode until you get back down to the ground.
Which is much better than the original method...a hose and a can for urine, and a bag you could stick to your...ahem, posterior for other wastes.

heh... they pee into a vaccum or a bag, I would think...
on a side note, water has a tendency to stick together so in space they form a floating globular thing

i beleve in to a tube in there suits whic is then sent to a wast container and summarily flushed into space at some times where i would think it would become a block of frozen piss hurtling t 100,000 mph through space...but thats just a guess.

They have devices called UCDs {Urine Collection Devices} that they pee in I just came back from Huntsville Alabama so thats where I learned that.

they go far away from any of their buddies...near a black hole, and pee down the hole. just like a toilet. LOL.

Are you serious? I guess you are. let me tell you a secret. you just need two catheter, one is bigger other is small, if you are lady is small in, if you are gentleman is bigger out.
