Trade-a-plane is the granddaddy of them all. There's also Aircraft Shopper Online, and several others. If you're an AOPA or EAA member, their sites have links to several aircraft buying sites, and so does Avweb.

Where to look somewhat depends on what you're looking for. Your Cherokee type Pipers are most likely to be found in Trade-A-Plane (http://www.trade-a-plane.com/) or AeroTrader (http://www.aerotraderonline.com/). If you're looking for higher end Pipers (Malibu or Cheyenne) Controller (http://www.controller.com/) is a good bet too. Controller doesn't have a lot of Cherokees and similar, whereas AeroTrader and Trade-A-Plane do. Also, for the high-end, Trade-A-Plane and AeroTRader are still good resources.
Regardless of where you find it, always have YOUR mechanic do a thourough pre-buy inspection.
