These are the basic themes and plots that I have endlessly been trying to get people to understand with the bazillion links I've been posting.

Is this the vision that you have of our future?

I worry about this too. Not just on the issue of illegal immigrants, but on many, many issues. I think that the people ought to get to review and vote on the issues. We elect officials that say that they are of the same opinion as we are on the issues. What we fail to realize is that they are politicians trying to get into office. They know what the general concensus is on certain issues and they are sure to let the voters know that they, the politician is in perfect agreement with them. Then, once they get into office, well darn, they changed their minds or decided now was not the time to act on them or whatever their lame excuse is. Why can't we just run petitions and present the laws, ammendments, repeals, etc to the politicians and them have to vote the majority and enact, repeal or amend? If we protested enough and made some noise enough, I think that things would change. Look at the 60's and early 70's. They fought for what they believe in and got things changed. Look at Dr. King, Jr. He made a lot of noise and protested and marched and rallied and petitioned and made a huge difference. I live in Texas and when the illegal immigrant thing came up, you can believe that the Mexican community (both legal and illegal) were marching and protesting and boycotting and making some noise. They blocked traffic and business access and the whole while had police protection. I say that we stand up for our rights instead of sitting around belly aching and doing nothing. Who's with me? Let's get organized and do this. If we make enough noise they will have to listen to us. No, it may not change anything, but maybe it will get more people off their butts and doing the same thing and then it will change things.

Sorry, I got a little rowdy, but I got a wee bit upset. We need to stand up as AMERICANS for what is right for AMERICA!!!

i agreed with alot of what the article stated makes sense

majority of Americans want immigration cut back and all illegal aliens sent back. Why is the will of the majority, expressed in polls and referenda, not reflected in law or policy? Because we no longer live in a democratic republic. We are ruled by a managerial elite.

America's corporate elites want an endless supply of cheap labor

What I think is.......I shouldn't have read the first 2 paragraphs of anything by Pat Buchanan without first downing two shots of whiskey.

Please don't make me do that again.

It is a cumulative effect of our laws not being enforced. We need to send them HOME.
