Live in the country for awhile where they speak the language you want to learn . That is the best way to learn a different language. You will learn it very fast. I learned alot of my espanol from living in Venezuela for a few summers when I was younger.....I think this is the best way....Hope this helps and what language are you trying to learn?

We learn a language best whe we learn to speak it. For that I would say the best way would be to stay in the other country for 2 years.

Speak as much as possible.
Try to speak in that language with the people who can manage this language and also with the people who are learning it.
Nothing like speaking the language. You will be well proficiency in it.
Just try and see.

I'm learning Russian from a private teacher who is a native speaker, I also have several Russian friends I can practice with and travel to Russian speaking countries from time to time. This seems to be working much better than when I studied Spanish in high school, although my motivation is much better with Russian than with Spanish.

Total Immersion- move to a place that speaks only that language and you will have to learn to communicate eventually.
