Also sometimes when your watching a show the screen will just go black like mentioned above, and you have to keep turning it off and on again till it decides to stay on. Any ideas on what could be wrong? I'm getting so tired of waiting 10 min. to actually be able to keep the TV on before watching something. Or worse be in the middle of a good movie and the screen goes black and the turning off and on starts again till the pic. decides to stay. Any help would be appreciated :)

Not the thing you can fix your self, unless you have been there and done that. I worked for RCA for 15 years, both as a TV tech and then as a service center branch manager. It may not be that serious, depends on if you are losing video or hi voltage to the picture tube. Either one is quite common. It does sound as if it is a thermal problem and may even be just a poor connection. It will take your local friendly TV repairman to fix it. You may want to shop that, ask friends who they might know that won't shaft you.

One thing you could try your self is to take the back off (I presume you still have sound when this happens) and see if the socket is loose on the neck of the CRT.

I use to work at the call center of the makers of this brand. Let's just say that I will never buy ANYTHING made by them. My suggestion is if it is still under the manufacturer warranty contact them. Even if it is just a little bit outside of the warranty they can help you. I took calls like this all the time. If you don't like what they offer you ask for a supervisor. There are other people higher up in the call center that can give you a little more. Don't settle!!! Get angry w/ them if you have to. Good Luck...

There is absolutely no way you can fix this on your own. You need to bring it to a repair shop. By fairly new, what do you mean? Could it still be under warranty? Regardless, getting it fixed will alleviate a lot of stress.
