I'm looking to spend up to $200. My parents had a Sony Cyber-Shot and it has not been working properly. Other than Sony, what other brands are good?

according to quality i think the order is nikon>canon>sony.....etc

However nikon is costly. Few months ago i bought canon sd20. Its the smallest camera, can be carried in pocket and easy to use. if you want to see all digital cameras, go to dealsea.com and search for digital cameras. If you need reviews on digital cameras go to www.cnet.com.

I went out and bought a Nikon cool pix 4100 and its done very well. Its the best digital camera that I've ever had. It has 4.0 mega pixels, 3x on zoom, 15 scene modes and internal memory. You can buy a bigger card to hold pics on, cause the one that came with it only had a 15 capability. I replaced it with a 64 and its not very costly. I got mine and case for around $250 plus the card. Which by the way fits in the front of my computer. Good luck

There are many good digital cameras, but what is good for you depends on your needs. For a general purpose camera, the Canon Powershot A-series (except for 410) like the A520, A540, A 610, A620 amd A700 are excellent choices. However, they dont suit all purposes. These cameras are not good for wildlife photography for example. You'll need an ultra-zoom for that.

I can tell you what not to buy. Do NOT get a HP camera. HP cameras can do some amazing things and look great. But they have the worst battery consumption than any other brand. If you don't mind charging after every use or buying new batteries all the time, go for it.

~~I reciently got a digital camera made by aiptek, the pocket DV 5900 Digital Video Camcorder. it uses MPEG-4 to record an playback tv quality video. takes up to 5 megapixel pictures, is a stereo Mp3 Player, built in flash strobe, is a digital voice recorder, and also works for a webcam. it has an SD slot that will hold up to 1GB on an SD card so you could have as much memory as you want by purchasing SD cards ... it comes with a small tripod and earbud earphones. this one item would take care of #1,3,and 4 on your list and was $114.00. I love my little camera.~~

Product: Polaroid x530

"The X3 sensor shows lots of promise. Its filter technology assigns each pixel red, green, and blue rather than just one of the three. Because there's no color-filter array, the sensor doesn't have to reconstruct missing color data and generate the attendant postprocessing artifacts. To learn more, check out Foveon's Web site. For the chip's latest iteration, dubbed the F19, the company made substantial design and manufacturing changes intended to decrease noise and increase light sensitivity. " -Cnet reviews

Nikon makes a great product, but they are expensive. A good quality digital camera, for a fair price, is Cannon.

I love and swear by Kodak. They are so easy to use, the pictures are beautiful, anything over 2mps is great. They have made a very good product.

I have a Kodak Easy Share. It's a great camera, easy to use and wasn't that expensive either.
