Sit ups and push ups, paired with ample cardio and a healthy diet should help get rid of the excess belly fat. Avoid too much sugar.

Good old fashioned crunches work and there are a million variations. All the women's fitness magazines regularly offer up routines that will chase away boredom.
But...it is possible that you genetically just hold your fat there. Welcome to the club. Not only did I inherit that tendency from my mom, but I'm tiny and the fascia (under the skin) and skin on my belly were destroyed by my pregnancies. The skinnier I get, the more it sags!
When I'm heavier I look pregnant (I'm otherwise tight and trim). If I starve myself, my tummy looks like the leg of an elephant.
In other words, sometimes it is a matter you either need to live with or see a plastic surgeon about.
Me...I need surgery - just not sure when the time and money is going to permit it.

You have two options.
You can cut calories and perform crunches like crazy, try one of the hot new incredible infomercial ab devices and buy the lastest new and improved "fat burner".
Also there is another option but it is not too popular. Eat right, Understand functions of the abdominal muscles, work the body as a whole, and allow for ongoing fat release.
Of all of two options, there is only one that "works," all of the time. Unfortunately, it "appears" to be the most complicated.
You can read about the real Ab-Solution at the link below;

DO NOT continue doing something just because "THEY" say it's the way things should be done. Allow yourself to choose the solution that will work for you, regardless of what it may be. The only way for you to know who is right is to measure your progress and ACTUALLY track your results.
CHANGE IS HARD, but it's also worth it. Not getting results makes change EXTREMELY HARD.
Get support from friends, family or a coach. Losing weight is not as hard at it seems once you know what to do.

When you figure this out PLEASE let me know. I am four-ten. The only thing I have found that works is walking. I was helping his guy friend out doing some construction work a while back and noticed that climbing a ladder everyday was giving me great results. I try not to get over 120. Being short and weighing any more doesn't look good. I want to weigh 110-115. but i am in my 30's and i have had 2 kids by c-section.

You're 5'10 and you weight 125 ? Thats about how much I used to weigh and I'm about 5'6 .. my stomach was pretty flat ...
I would say drink a lot of water and keep up with sit-ups everyday. Take walks around the block and maybe try pilates too ...

Some people just are not genetically made to have flat stomachs. My brother has the same problem- he's a string bean and still has a little pooch. You might need to have plastic surgery if you are really agitated by it.

that is the hardest thing to get rid of ever!!!! Good luck!!
- work up to 500 crunches a day
- lower your intake of sodium
- suck your stomach in when your walking or running (that tightens the muscles.
Also, check out Abs of Steel from the library and religiously do that everyday if you don't want to do 500 crunches a day.
See, you don't need to lose weight to get rid of it; you need to tighten those loose muscles.

cut down on the sodium in your diet. yeah, i laughed too when i heard about this, but it works. go for a total of less than 600 mg sodium per day total. be disciplined and you will lose your belly fat.
