Hey! I'm a guy, I'm 21, very straight, I have a girlfriend who has the most beautiful blonde hair you've ever seen, and is 100% natural, getting highlights is not wrong at all, however, at 13 you should enjoy whatever natural is left in it. if you start doing your hair at this age by 20 is not going to look very nice, only if you put products on it every day, mi advice as a guy is: let be natural, let be soft, than when you are around 20-25 do whatever you want, but try to keep it as natural as you can.

Highlights are safe if you have healthy hair. If you take care of your hair and have it trimmed about every 6 to 8 weeks it will help prevent split ends. There are some good protein products in salons that will help put protein back into your hair. Highlights are great but if your hair gets dryed out it will break off. I recommend a professional doing this, the home kits are not as healthy for your hair. Good luck.

i want blonde higlights, but i think they can cause your hair to dry out a bit after a while. i have never gotten higlights, but i know so mjany people who have, and their hair is just fine, i would reccomend to not get it done if you have extremely thin hair. hope you take my advise!

Not that I know of, except maybe for the fact that you're applying certain toxic chemicals to your young scalp. I'd get advice from a doctor first; preferably a dermatologist. Go to: www.allexperts.com, and look up a dermatologist.. Answers are free. While you're there, you can ask other experts questions on any topic listed.

No,its fine I very first got my highlights when I was 9 and it makes my hair shine.Just make sure you go to a hair stylist and get shampoos and conditioners that help keep the color and not have it fade.

Yes! It is perfectly fine! I am thirteen and hve gotten my hair highlighted since I was 11 years-old. It doesn't harm your hair, and you don't have to take extra care of it. I would highly suggest it and talk to your hair-stylist about it. You only have to get it rer-highlighted every two months or so.

If it's what you really want, there's nothing wrong with change. Realize, though, that once you get them you have to keep them up-which can be a pain. Just have fun with your hair!!!

It's not bad, it's that some people think it's wrong because they think that at 13 it's too young because everything is supposed to go step by step.

I've seen much younger girls with highlights. If your hair can take it, go ahead.
Just watchout for hair thinning later on!

i don't think it's bad, but it is kinda bad for your hair, i used to dye my hair a lot but it began to feel like straw, if you do decide to do it do a hot oil treatment afterwards to help with some of the damage :) i used VO5
