I am a 40 year woman who is passionate, romantic, and love sex. However I am looking for a lifelong comiitted relationship (marriage) rather than some casual fling. I don't want to come across as a cold person, but how can I express my opinions and feelings to a guy and still appear ladylike? I'm not looking for a guy with a low drive but at the same time It seems like almost everyguy brings up sex and intimacy from the beginning to some extent. How do you tell a guy that you will be a good lover to your man but you don't give free samples?

I'm currently in the constantly meeting new guys stage but when I do find someone to date, how do I handle this?

I do have a friend with benefits. He is married but I see him often so he takes care of that need in me so that I don't rush into it with a guy I want a commitment from.

In comment to the skunky monkey, I would love to date and even marry the guy I'm seeing but he is married already. I need to find someone of my own but I am human and i entered a relationship with this guy after over a decade of not having sex, so he is someone to take care of those needs just like i take care of his, but i know that if I meet a guy and start dating and start having sex with him, he won't be in any hurry to commit. As far as ladylike, well I have only had 2 lovers in 19 years and one was my husband, so I don't think I'm too bad.

I think your making too big of a deal regarding the sexual aspect. And I don't say that often....I also love sex. You said you wanted to find a lifelong committed relationship, rather than a fling. Well if that's what you want, then you work on finding that man, and the sex will fall into place, or you'll teach him. You also made it clear that you were a sensual person, which is great.....but don't use that as your calling card, unless that's what your looking for. I'm 35, so I'm not far behind you. Personally, I just ended a relationship and have no interest in another right now. But, I am also a very sexual person, and I don't sleep around. So, the solution in interim is making a good friend....with benefits. As you get older, your no longer considered slutty for being comfortable with your own sexuality and needs......suddenly you become sensual. Seriously.....it's a nice arrangement. You might want to consider it while your waiting for Mr. right to arrive. Either that or buy some toys....lots of toys!

So you have a "friend with benefits" but you don't want to have sex with the guy you're dating? You don't want to give him the wrong impression? Or do you not want to give him the right impression? I'm pretty sure that by the time you have gone on a few dates if these guys knew that while you're telling them "no let's wait" you're banging some other guy, the self respecting ones would hit the bricks so fast it would make your head spin. If you're deceiving these guys you date and sleeping with guys you are not interested in dating, then maybe you're not as "ladylike" as you would like to think.
...And by the way Ms Ladylike i love that he's married but you don't give out free samples.

Stop the serial dating and pick a guy to "go steady" with for a while. Base this choice on who you enjoy being around. After the second date, he will be hoping for some action. If you're ready, give him some. You'll soon discover what kind of drive he has, and if the sex is good, you can start rolling out your laundry list of demands.

A friend gives hope when life is low, a friend is a place when you have nowhere to go, a friend is honest, a friend is true. A friend is precious a friend is u.
