go with the wrangler its more manly and wont brake down or be expensive if it does i own one and the soft top is EASY to put up and down and i have taken it offroading and beaten it and the only thing it will do it scratch the clear coat but the body on it is a beast and the stereotype of them being unsafe is only for the older ones the newer suspension that contains spring instead of leafs level the jeep off a 1000% better so its actualy very difficult to roll one and plus the roll bar is there if ya do once u own a wrangler you will be hooked and plus you wont look bad when ur everytihng smokes ya up the road like in the eclipse

You are talking about two different types of vehicles. Depending on what you like, you can choose either one. As a previous Jeep owner, it rides very rough. Don't expect smooth and comfortable ride in a Jeep. Wrangle only comes with stick shift, no automatic if you can't drive one. Especially you're 19 and you're expected to date a lot, right? Your girlfriend may get a headache or car sick in a Jeep.
On the contrary, Eclipse Spyder offers smooth ride and looks stylish too. I'd recommend that one.
One other thing to consider, check the insurance of each. I believe Wrangler is more expensive to insure.
Good luck.

Neither vehicle is outstanding in performance or reliability. My best answer for a convertable would be a Toyota Solara.
If you prefer a Wrangler and don't mind road noise, being uncomfortable and having low visibility but love to go off-roading there's no other choice. In hotness of course the Spyder wins.
Though it's not a bad choice for a convertable, the Eclipse has never been that great for it's class. To me, it's become something it wasn't meant to be. It's built off the Galant - making it lumbering and bulky and in turn, less agile.

Wrangler all the way! No they don't drive like a truck or a car, but that's the point it's a jeep made to go anywhere! Especially if your the outdoor type. We bought our 93 from my son (who wants it back) Only problem we have had was the starter other than that it runs great . And the great looking things you can add. They have a top call the Sun Shade that we've just ordered that we want to use for the summer. Your only young once have fun!

My husband had an eclipse spyder when I met him. I loved that car, they are so much fun so take on vacation esp. to the beach. And they are fun to drive too! It will give you more appeal to the ladies too.
I have a friend that owns a jeep and the top is hard to get on and off! And he has had a lot of mechanical problems with it as well!

good day, I presently very own a 2001 TJ Wrangler. My oppinion is this, The Rubicon is probable extra high priced up front yet, in case you do any wheeling in any respect it truly is truly easily worth the extra value with the aid of upgraded powertrain it comes with. If down the line you opt to develop it, positioned on extra advantageous tires and such you will already be nicely earlier to the game. i offered my jeep with 36" Superswampers, 6" Skyjacker Rock waiting suspension and four:fifty six gears. the previous proprietor spent some fantastically sturdy money on the Jeep and nonetheless basically had a bite of crap. The Dana 35 rear end can not cope with the strain of this extra kit. have confidence me i comprehend after 2 pinion gears shattered with in user-friendly terms steet use. The flow case is likewise too gentle. i've got faith my the frontcontinual chain slips on occasion with the aid of popping noise while it truly is engaged. for particular i'm presently changing out the rear end this weekend for an improve. no longer something radical like probable a great sort of the different men even yet it is going to artwork ok for my Interstate pounder. (Ford 8.8) i assume to sum it up, it truly is extra clever to have too lots than have too little and choose extra. as quickly as you initiate wheeling you will constantly choose extra. i desire this helps. thank you, Dana

I have a jeep and I have had alot of problems with it and after asking around I've heard from other Jeep owners that have had the same problems as well. Go for the Eclipse.

dude, a jeep is fun. but a jeep is best served as a second vehicle. I wouldn't recommend it as your primary ride. It can
get tiresome to drive. So that being said, I would say, get
the spyder.
