1. Get active. Play sports or even just get out and take a walk every day. It's summer, so maybe a bi weekly trip to the local swimming pool would help.
2. Eat better. Cut out the fast food and the junk food. Eat more nutritious food. Summer is a great time to eat more fruit because so much of it is in season right now.
Good luck!

The most obvious answer is to burn more calories than you are taking in. Clarories are nopt actually a physical thing per say like fats or carbohydrates for example. A good way to think of calories is energy.
Based on your weight, if you were to not excersize at all for one day you would burn around 1950 calories.
For excersize, I would suggest RUNNING since it is probably the most efficient way to burn calories, therefor one of the quickest. The problem with running is that most people are discouraged by it and want the "easy way out" to burn calories. The truth is there is no easy way out; there never has and there probably never will be (excluding liposuction or gasdrict by-pass etc. but those things cost money and are mostly for wussies). The best advice I can give you concerning running is you just have to keep going at it if you ever want to get any better at it, and to get a real pair of running shoes. Trust me, running definitely will not make you feel like a pile of sh't about yourself if you keep doing it.

Below site tells you how to change the way you eat and the most effective type of exercise (and why) for losing weight. It has the quickest way to lose weight which is fasting, but at your age you should change diet and do the exercise mentioned. Your weight can still come off pretty quickly but don't be in a rush since 50 pounds is a lot to lose.
Adopt healthy habits now and stay healthy and thin for a lifetime.

First get your parents/guardian to take you to a pediatrician who will check you over to make sure there's no serious underlying problem that needs to be dealt with first - like a thyroid problem. Then start walking. Walk half an hour at a time, once a day. Walk fast and do not stop except for traffic lights ;-) Seriously, best place to do that is on an indoor track or a fenced athletic field. After a month, double the time. You can split it up, walking half an hour in the morning and the other half in the evening before dinner. After three months, start running. Best do this on an enclosed track for safety sake. After you warm up with two walking laps around the track, run a lap. Then walk two more laps and go home. Same thing next day. After two weeks, walk two laps, run two and walk two more. After another two weeks, walk one lap, run three, walk one. After another two weeks, run four laps between the two walking laps. Gradually increase your distance. Go from running a mile to two, to three, and so on until you're running five miles a day. Never forget to warm up and cool down before and after running. Keep this up for a year and not only will you have lost the weight, you'll have increased your strength and endurance and your heart and lungs will be so*oo*ooo much better for it. Get going, cowboy! Kick behind and take names!

Burn more calories everyday. It sounds simple but it works. Most people do not know how to calculate this. The basic formula is Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity.

The current issue of "Muscle and Fitness" magazine has some excellent workout routines that won't get you bored.
Remember, diet and exercise is best for lasting weight loss.

I don't know if quick is really want you are looking for. I mean you want it to stay off right? I have changed my eating habits and incorporated 30min of cardio into my everday life. I also weight train at least 3days a week. I have been doing this for 4 weeks and have lost 6lbs. Mostly I cut all my portions in half and try not to cheat and eat something really fatning but once a week. good luck

When you want to eat sweets eat a piece of fruit.
Distract your self when you crave food.. go clean out the litter box, walk the dog, reorganize a shelf... dont eat unless you are hungry- stomach growling.
I used to be (at 14) 5'2" and 180lbs... i'm now (!6) 5'4" and 150lbs, I dont look over weight at all.

don't starve yourself whatever you do, your body will hate you and take revenge.
you need to have patience and determination. Set up a meal plan where you keep track of calorie intake and exercise AT LEAST for 30mins three times a week. More is better but stop if you feel tired.

ok every time your hungry you drink sweet tea, you eat one meal a day in the evening say 7pm and you dont eat till until your full up, you eat till you have something in your stomach. If you eat in the mornings you will be hungry, so if you want more, drink more, tea with sugar. eat bananas as well they have potasium and you''l loss a lot of weight with them. You dont go to the toilet when you dont need to so dont eat when you dont need to, listen to your body not your head. we are taught, that we are supposed to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, have you ever seen a child when you try to force feed them? thats the biggest crock of indoctrinted cultural myth ever, look at the conditions of obease people in the USA for example buying into that myth, obeasty is a sign of greed and somebody eating more than their fair share. Nobody came out of a prison of war camp overweight, so i dont or never will buy into that "its my metobolic rate BS. Put less food in your gob..period then you'll have less weight to carry. something in the stomach is better than nothing in it . So go for tea before the food. liquid nourishment and the sugar will give you energy to burn it off. If you eat carbohydrates (bread , pasta ect) and protein (eggs ,milk cheese) together they cancel eachother out, so if you eat protein only (tuna 100% protein) do it before you go to bed as it rebuilds cells. if you eat carbohydrate before you go to sleep you will have to much energy. If eat protein in the daytime you will feel tireder because the body is drawing on the fat reserves( you loosing weight). get it ;) and now consider all those children starving that don't get one meal a day!
