stay out of the sun!

You can't..the damage is already done.
A lot of people on here gave good answers..and I have another one..being that I am a redhead and I have had lots of sunburns...
Baking soda. Run yourself a lukewarm bath (not cold, it's too much of a shock to the system) and put about a cup of baking soda in it. It will cool down your skin.
Noxema is also good, and so is vinegar, but not at the same time.
Cool, wet towels will also help and so will that aloe vera gel with lidocaine.
Most of all, you need time to get over the sunburn. In a couple of days, it will start peeling, and in a week, it will be all gone. Make sure you stay out of the sun until it's gone or you'll get burned on top of it..and make sure you use sunscreen with a very high SPF factor every time you're in the sun.
Bad sunburns have been linked to a later chance of skin cancer by many experts.

So you wanted to get that golden suntan, but for some odd reason you look more like a lobster, well, you've just acquired one very nice, painful, sunburn. No fear though, there are some cures to help you through the pain:

Aspirin first, it will reduce the pain.
A cool wet compress will also make you feel better instantly.
Soak in a tub of cool water and add a cup of white vinegar to the bath.
Generously apply aloe gel to any burned area.
If the burn is very bad, please go to the doctor.
One other note, be very careful when going out in the sun, overexposure prematurely ages the skin and also greatly increases your risk of skin cancer. So be careful.

Can't get rid of it....only treat it. However prevention is the best remedy. But barring that, use aloe vera gel (some have lidocaine for pain relief). You can also use vinegar to take some of the sting/burn out, but then you smell like a pickle.

You can't get rid of a sunburn....you just wait till it is gone...and don't get another one. You can put sprays on it to ease the pain though.

the best way is always prevention.. apply sun bloick with at least SPF30.. SPF means Sun Block Factor.. the active ingrediants in sun blocks..

anyway, if u already have sunburn, i dun think u can reverse the effect.. it will come naturally. in the meantime, try applying calamine lotion... im not sure if u can get it in yr country. its a pinkish lotion that is cooling.. so when applied, its soothing to the sun burn..

there's really no way to get rid of it. thats something thats gonna take time. put LOTS of lotion on it, (recommend baby lotion cuz it works best) and keep putting it on so ur skin is always moisturized and doesnt sting too much. By putting lots of lotion it can help prevent ur skin from peeling. Also, refridgerate the lotion for like, 10 minutes before you put it on.

go to your local Walgreens, Walmart, etc. and ask for some "After Sun Lotion". I dont think it's a brand name, but they will know what you're talking about.

nothing will get RID of the burn except for time, but keep applying this lotion and it will help ALOT!
