I don't think anyone know for sure that the anti christ is going to be a pope, but I heard some catholic people say they knew the next pope would be the anti christ.
My question is, if you are catholic and you know the anti christ is in your faith, does it make you question your religion?
I am not downing you at all, if I heard that anti christ was in mine, I would be re looking at my faith, is why I ask....

You hit the nail on the head sweetie!
I was raised a Catholic. I got saved when I was 21. Once I started studying God's Word, I had a BIG decision to make...
God's Word or man's word....
I was raised that anyone who wasn't Catholic is going to hell, but when I read God's Word, well let me just tell ya! ANYONE can go to heaven!!!
There were many other scriptures that contradict the Roman Catholic teachings, and when I questioned? they told me that Catholic teaching supercedes the Scriptures....
I also came across a very interesting piece of info....
The Catholic Bible gets it's translation from what's called the Roman Latin Vulgate...well in
2 Peter 1:19 the Scripture says, ".....until the day dawn, and the day star rises in your hearts." (day star meaning Jesus)
The Roman Latin Vulgate states(in English), "...and Lucifer rises in your hearts."
The Anti-Christ is Satan, and even he doesn't know who the man will be, because only the Father in Heaven knows when the trumpet shall blow. Once the Rapture takes place then Satan will enter the man who will come and say, "Peace, Peace..." he will settle the world from the chaos brought about by the Rapture. That man POPE OR NOT! will take this world into a time of destruction as the wold has NEVER seen before...

Im not a Catholic but I know that the last Pope ever will not be the Anti-Christ but the last Pope ever will be the False Prophet.
The late Pope John Paul II feared he would be suceeded by a false prophet, luckily he hasn't since Cardinal Ratzinger who was his right hand man became Pope Benedict XVI last year.
St. Malachi in a vision from the Lord did predict only 2 more Popes after Pope John Paul II and so that means 1 Pope will be left after Benedict XVI and this one will prolly be called Pope Peter II since no Pope has dared call himself Peter since Apostle Peter believed to be the 1st Pope.
St. Malachi did say the last Pope would be Peter The Roman.
St. Malachi also predicted that Pope Benedict XVI would not reign as long as Pope John Paul II and I believe it too considering the age of Pope Benedict XVI
Pope John Paul II did say that when the False Prophet is Pope the Church will commit a gross betrayal of Christ.
Furthermore the False Prophet will practically be a 2nd in Command to the Anti-Christ because the Anti-Christ will be the Political Dictator and the False Prophet the Spiritual Dictator.
The False Prophet will get all Religions of the World to Unify in Worship of the Anti-Christ.
Adults who have faith in Christ whether they be Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, or Messianic Jews/Hebrew Christians, or other type of Christian will be raptured from the Earth to miss Tribulation.
All Children 12 and Under regardless of background will also be raptured (even Children of satanists and atheists will be raptured if age 12 and under due to the whole age of accountability thing).
After that 144,000 Virgin Jewish Males who are Left behind will instantly become believers in Christ.
They will announce that the King is coming.
Jew and Gentile alike will all have a choice to either follow Christ or follow The Anti-Christ.
The Anti-Christ will behead any Jew or Gentile that chooses to follow Christ but those who remain Faithful and die will come back with Christ and those remaining Faithful who live through Tribulation will see Christ return as well.

I'm Catholic and I never heard anything about the next pope being the anti-christ. I think the people you heard talking were at least slightly insane. The Pope has to be unanimously elected by all the cardinals so it would probably be pretty difficult for the anti-christ to become pope...

I'm Catholic and I have only heard that once before.
I seriously doubt that the Anti-Christ will be a Pope. Maybe the people who have been saying that have been playing with you. I mean really, why would the Anti-Christ show up in one of the most powerful religious positions in the world? It just doesn't make sense to me.

The original anti-Christ was Paul, aka Saul of Tarsus.
The Catholic church adopted his doctrine as the foundation for the Catholic church, including the concept that Jesus was God (Trinity).
The Catholic church is the anti-Christ.
But, then again, so are all Trinitarians, which means that about 90% of all Christians are the anti-Christ.

Hi. I'm Catholic. I don't think the next Pope will be the antichrist. That speculation comes from an apocryphal source attributed to St. Malachi, who (allegedly) wrote a series of verses to describe each Pope. They match up pretty well until the last dozen or so, and we happen to be on number Benedict, which he writes will be the last one.
Problem is, the document seems to postdate Malachi's death by a few centuries, at least. And the 'prophecies' are vague - one describes olives, and the Pope it is supposed to correspond to had olive skin and his family owned land in a town where the seal was of an olive.
The document also came out at a time when anti-Catholic sentiment was high following Luther's Reformation.
Question at hand: would I leave the Catholic Church IF I knew the Pope would be the antichrist (since I don't believe him to be so, I'm obviously not leaving)? No, I'd work from within to fight the forces of evil. I believe that the Catholic Church is the Ancient and Original Church of Christ on Earth, the one Jesus described when He told Peter "on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it" (Mt 16:18). This tells me that even if the antichrist came from the Catholic Church, he won't win.
Besides, we all know who wins in the end. When the enemy reminds you of your past, remind him of his future.
IN Christ,
V17

montanacowgirlwannabe - I need to correct you here.
The Latin Vulgate text of 2 Peter 1:19 reads:
"et habemus firmiorem propheticum sermonem cui bene facitis adtendentes quasi lucernae lucenti in caliginoso loco donec dies inlucescat et lucifer oriatur in cordibus vestris"
you see the word 'lucifer' towards the end?
Latin root luci- means "light"
Latin end -fer/-fera/-ferum means "bringer of"
Hence the word lucifer in Latin merely means "morning star". The association of lucifer with the enemy came much later:

Most Catholic and mainstream Protestant biblical scholars believe the Book of Revelation refers to ancient Rome in the first century and not about end times.

I view it that the Devil is going to attack what is strongest - what is truest and what threatens him and reminds him of God's love - Jesus' sacrfice for us and what stands (to the Devil) as heaven on earth.... hence, not surprising to think that he'll try and finally find a weakness in a human be it anyone in the Church or a Pope and use it to "discredit" the church and shame God and all that the Christian beliefs and Catholic traditions stand for.
