niether. Its old news, stupid news, and propaganda news.
In order to be bad news, it would have to have any bearing on reality; which it doesn't.

I don't know what the missionaries did to offend you, but you need to know that the gospel message is life-changing and life-saving (that equals good news).
If the message of salvation has been taught to you then you have a choice to make (please read Matthew 13:1-23). What are you going to do with the message of salvation that you have heard (the seed)? Will you let other voices of this world drown it out or will you root yourself in God's word so that you can understand your Creator more and know how you can live life to the fullest?
If the salvation message has not been presented to you, then I suggest that you look up Romans 3:23, 6:23, and 10:9-10, 13 and/or if you know a Christian from you area (it doesn't have to be a missionary) then talk about what it means to be saved with that person.
Life is short. Tomorrow may be my last day. I like to tell my husband that if I died suddenly to remember that it is a win-win situation for me. If I live, well great! If I die, I know where I am going. Despite my many shortcomings I know I will go to heaven because I believe Jesus died for my sins and I put my faith in Him.
I'm sorry that the missionaries have turned you off to God. If their lifestyles are not reflecting Christ in them then they are doing a disservice to you and to God. If the way they live makes you uncomfortable because you are doing things they say are displeasing to the Lord, well sometimes the truth hurts, but thank God for honest people :) However, your decision to seek God is only between you and Him. What are you going to do?
I want to challenge you to spend some time learning about God and what He meant by sending Jesus to this earth. Maybe you could start by reading one of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John). Ask God for help in understanding what you are reading. Ask Him to make Himself real to you. You won't be disappointed.
I'm sorry this was so long. There is so much I still would like to say, but I'll live you in my Creator's hands. I will be praying for you.
Godspeed,
gergy

I don't know what the missionaries told you about the Bible, but I believe the real message of the Bible is GOOD news. Please don't judge Christianity by the way some Christians act. The best thing to do is get a Bible and read it for yourself, then you decide what sort of news it is. If you want answers about the Bible, I recommend www.bibleinfo.org

Gospel does mean good news. It is not good news that you will be judged and burn in hell. Unfortunately they have had it all messed up since the apostles.
I don't know how more people don't see past the contradictions. 'Died for our sins' 'Repent for your sins' Duh. Which one is it??
The end of the world of law and sin and judgement ended at the cross 2000 years ago and the new world of grace and peace and righteousness started at the cross. End of story. There is nothing left that you have to do, for God or to God or to yourself. Not even believe. But if you believe all that was done, you have freed your mind and heart from the world of Christianity and hell.
Paul got it, he did not agree with the apostles and what they were teaching and the churches they were starting.
I feel sorry for the missionaries. They think they have to save. All they have to know is that we are all saved - even them - without any works or faith.

And remember, Mathew, mark, luke and john were taught under the old covenant, where Jesus taught the law to the full extent. To prove that everyone was unholy under the law. Impossible to be righteous by works.
Notice in acts how the apostles try to get Paul to follow old Jewish traditions. Read Galations too then.

Ok, they may have been trying to put the fear of God into you by saying that. That is always a bad idea because becoming a Christian through fear usually leads to a backsliding Christian that bounces in and out. That is no life to lead. You should fear God, but you should also know about the benefits of being one of His children. The Gospel is the "Good News". The Bible does say that one who knows the Word but heeds it not is accountable to the full extent, but it is not their place to tell you that. The Holy Spirit is the only One who can put that conviction in your heart. What I would suggest for you is to read Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Acts. Those books are the teachings of Jesus and of the early church. If you are, or want to become, a Christian, those are great starting points because we are told to strive to live as Jesus lived. If you have any other questions or wish to discuss this further, feel free to email me.

If you truly believed that The Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins and that He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification then you will not have to worry about the judgment seat of Christ because your sins are under His blood. You will have to give and account for the things done in the body to see if you have any rewards.1 Corinthians 3: 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If you have not trusted in what the Lord Jesus Christ did on the cross for you then you will stand at the White throne judgment and then cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20: 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

I won't say directly that it's "bad," I mean THEY believe what they are doing is good... But I personally don't think it's so great. If people want to be of their religion they will become it on their own. Personally I think pushing other people to join their religion is rude and cult-like behavior. Trying to force other people and acting like they are above them is bad.
Just remember that missionaries are basically people out to push their personal idea of how people should believe... Last year I once heard that some packed up and left people in a country that needed aid without giving them the food and stuff they brought because they wouldn't accept their religion. Doesn't seem quite good to me...

Missionaries are sent by God. They are called through him to do this work. They are witnesses for the Lord in spreading the word and helping in others ways as well.
Missionaries are Good Outstanding people. They do good not evil.

The gospel is good news, it is the story of Christ's redemption of man. Not all missionaries are like that.

The word "gospel" means good news.
It's like this. God created man. Man sinned. God requires sacrifice for sin. People made sacrifices. Then they sinned again. Then they made sacrifices again. It went on and on and on.
Then (here's the good news) Jesus came, lived a perfect life, met God's standards of perfection, became our sacrifice once and for all.
Our worries are over.
Jesus built a bridge for us to God.
Who wouldn't want to cross it? and I mean at a dead run.......
