I can't even image what they go through over there and I am sure if I even tried it would be nothing close. But that is why God put other people in a place where they can help. At my church we have a chance to go to places like Uganda, India, Mexico and Vietnam, to help those people in need the best way that we can.
One of my good friends is leaving on the 4th of July to Africa. She has already been there twice and is going back to open up a community center where the street kids can go to learn more about God and to interact with eachother in a safer enviorment. They are also opening up a orphange so that the children there will no longer have to live on the streets.
My friend told me about 12 street kids that she had met, they slept behind a bar because at the end of every night the bartender would poor out the old beer to prepar for the next day. And the kids would drink that beer so that they could sleep. While these kids would sleep people would come over and kick them or rape them. Most of these kids never knew their parents and some only knew their names because they had their birth certificate. Others didn't even know their names. You never see any girls on the street because they are not safe.
These children don't even understand that a hug is a good thing, they have rarely been touched in a way that showed thst they ment something.... Most familys there will give up there children and throw them out because they cannot afford them, There are even families living in trash dumps giving birth to children. But we can help even if we don't go over there you can donate things, or money. You can even pray. If you are interested go look on www.rockofafrica.com. Also you can email me and I can forward you the emails I get form my friend while she is in Africa. They are amazing I hope one day God will see it in my future to go visit a country that is need and I pray that I can help in some way.

The thought of it is almost unbearable.
Which is all the more reason for all of us to count our blessings, and be thankful for the little things that we take for granted on a daily basis i.e. clean water, food, shelter, etc.
Having said that, this situation is no different than the devastation of Hurricane Katrina & the many victims with their families left destitute & homeless.
There's only so much that can be done, sadly.
We're all brought into this world... all God's children devoid of anything & we, too shall someday return to Him with nothing.
