Karl Rove and other Neo Cons have called John Murtha(Korea era Vet and
Vietnam Vet (decorated with medals) and John Kerry (Vietnam with medals, despite
Swift Boat Liars ads) have served. Heck, Even Al Gore served in Vietnam.

George W Bush was afraid that active duty would cut into his Jack Daniels happy hour time.

I missed a word. Karl Rove and other Neo Cons have called them cowards for wanting a timetable. I will take it all back if Karl and others enlist and serve in Iraq. I served in Vietnam. I guess that makes me a coward.

FDR never served in combat, but W. Bush can't even spell coach. Not really a just comparison. Bush Jr. defines mediority.

mediocrity. See George W Bush in the dictionary. Sorry for the misspelling.

True. But, I am a nitwit who served. Have you? Bush Jr. was not in the lottery. He used his father's influence to get him a soft spot in the guard. Over a third of the Marines I served with were Black or Hispanic. They did not have someone in high places to keep them out of being in harms way. I only object to those who talk like John Wayne (he did not serve either) but sound tough like Karl Rove. Who would you rather serve with, Rove or Murtha?

Bush Jr. did not have the GPA to get him into the Univ. of Texas. Maybe someone took his tests for him. Would not be the first time.

running on mt: You know John Kerry, though you have never met him. I have met him, and I haven't met you. He did serve. When I came home from Nam I joined the anti war movement. I had paid my dues. That is what democracy is about.

Republicans love sending others to do their dirty work, they always have. Republicans also love working class tax payers paying the $2 trillion cost of war for them.
If republicans rellay support the war and Bu$h then how can they be in this yahoo questions? Would they not be in Iraq fighting for they believe in as right? Would they not agree that "GOD is on our side" in this war?

Nitwits always ask stupid questions. President Bush was one of over a million students that got deferments during Viet Nam. Murtha is an idiot & Kerry was setting up his political career. If Bush can't spell, then Kerry who had lower grades at Yale than Bush must not know his alphabets. I know lots of Hawks who served vialantly, My son is a Ranger & a big Republican, by 2 uncles were Green Berets during Viet Nam & are still Republicans. Rather broad statements for neither a hawk or cowrd, just a whiner.

Well I don't think Bush was a coward..he at least joined the air natl guard..and before you start debating his record remember dan rather just left NBC today for not getting his facts straight. How about your beloved Bill Clinton..what kind of military record does he have...hell the man didnt even have enough respect for the military to learn how to render a proper salute. You have reason to doubt over 500 swift boat vets? I know John Kerry..though I never met him. I know exactly what kind of man he is...and isn't... because I've seen his kind before..you see I was in nam too...over 2 years USMC. John Kerry was planning his political career before he even went in the navy. The medals were a necessary prop. I've seen officers "reward" each other for what grunts did while they sat on their asses. Some deserve them...others definately not. But it's one of those things thats almost a must have for the career officer (or politician) But I don't know..maybe it was a different vietnam...cause while i was humping a prc 25 on search and destroy ops he was out raping and pillaging like "genghis khan"...i never saw that..hmmm? yep..sure glad you enlightened us on all the liberal war heros..i'll be sure to keep this in mind. by the way..i'm a conservative. I support my president. i support our troops. God bless America.

P.S. By the way...Murtha hasn't been quite as "highly" decorated as many believe, but I dont give a damn if he has every medal in the book when he starts convicting Marines publically without a trial he's a low life piece of scum in my book

Haven't you noticed that the people who have actually fought in a war don't want us involved in another, and that the people who have no concept of real warfare think nothing of sending others into conflict?

For you Gore-bashers, I think that his diplomacy would have brought us a lot further than Bush's blustering war-mongering!
