In some states it is considered Child Abuse and your mother can be arrested.
The issue of extended breastfeeding has been raised numerous times in United States courts, in both social service agency and family law cases. There are older reports of family law cases in which the court ’s custody decision was affected by the belief that the child should have been weaned at an earlier age.1 However, a more recent custody case recognized that it was not inappropriate to breastfeed past infancy and discounted the father ’s claims that it was detrimental to the child ’s development.2 It is not uncommon for fathers to raise questions about extended breastfeeding to gain leverage in custody decisions, even fathers who were supportive of long-term breastfeeding prior to the divorce. This tactic has been shown to work. After all, what do judges know about breastfeeding!
Social service agencies have looked at the issue of extended breastfeeding numerous times over the past ten years, but not one social service agency has upheld any finding that extended breastfeeding constitutes abuse or neglect, or is in any way harmful to the child. In only two situations has a child been removed from the home. Several years ago, a social service agency in Colorado removed a five-year-old child because the mother was still breastfeeding, but the court ordered the child to be immediately returned to his family. Last year, in Illinois, a child was removed from the mother ’s custody to foster care for over six months because a judge issued an initial finding that the child was at risk of serious emotional harm because of not being weaned. This case received a great deal of publicity. Though the case is still in the process of being resolved, the child has been returned to his mother, and the judge has vacated the finding of neglect.

First I would like to say that your sister is 13 and still breastfeeding? If that is your question then in my opinion no it is not alright for a 13yr old to be still breastfeeding.
But everyone has a right to what they want to do. I know when I breastfeed they were off by the time they all cute there teeth.

i understand you dont prefer to take heed to this, yet you're too youthful. 13 continues to be being a baby. Act like a baby at the same time as you nevertheless are one. the most 13 12 months olds could be doing is kissing. Yea he would have kept your secrets and techniques yet thats only one little area of a courting. you quite shouldnt attempt this a lot proper this second. you want to mature first(as on your body). merely rejoice with a courting with the affection... no longer the actual stuff.

I dont believe that this is a good idea. Not so much because breast milk is bad but you must take into account normal child development. This girl is a teenager....See needs to be forming positive relationships with other teenage girls/boys not breastfeeding.

I breast fed my son until he was 3 and a half years old. All of the doctors that I saw encouraged me to continue for as long as I continued to produce milk. As soon as I thought that my milk supplies was diminishing I weaned him.
As for her being 13...there is no way i would ever breast feed as long as that. As a matter of fact i would have quit at 4 years old even if i still produced milk for my son.

I think it depends on the mother and childs way of life. There is really no way to decide whether something is normal, because if you think about it, what is normal? I say if it is healthy, and they are both comfortable with it, go ahead! I dont think there's anything wrong with it.

Geez. What a weird sense of humor you have.
There is no 13 year old girl in the world that would breast feed from her mother. No boy either - unless he were doing it for sexual purposes.
