"Familiarity breeds contempt" an old saying with a lot of truth! The more we are around someone, the more they will drive us crazy. FIND SOME TIME TO GET AWAY FROM THEM, IT WILL HELP!!!

I think every one feels like that at one time or another. Kids just try to get away with whatever they can. Mine drive me crazy constantly. Thats why I drink. Sad but true. It helps numb the frustration.

Maybe they see how it irritates you and prompts them to continue the behavior. Try taking total control of the situation in a calm and rational manner. You need to establish your role as their parent and earn their respect. It may not appear to be an easy task, but consistency is key.

That's what they do. You have to make a joke out of it when they make you mad. When my kids act ridiculous, I turn it on them on mock them as to how they sounded. They start laughing and realize how wrong they were. When my kids say they don't want to do something they have to, I say "of course sweetie, you NEVER have to do ANYTHING you don't want to do!" Then they laugh and do it.
